Many years ago there was a popular song suggesting that each time it rained it rained pennies from heaven. Today's reality is that when it rains, it rains acid from heaven. By re-enacting a case study of a person whose income was cut off as a direct result of acid rain, this presentation provides, in laymen's terms, some basic information about this little-known form of pollution.

Starting with a scene of a refugee camp in Israeli-occupied Gaza in 1976, the film features shots of various districts, dispensing with narration and interspersing interviews with Palestinian people and fedayeen (guerrillas) in the rubble of Western Beirut. Children who lost their parents in bombings are educated to be soldiers at their orphanage. They say that they want to be soldiers or heroes. Boys and girls sing: "We don't want money. We don't want to play. We will carry guns and enter the Revolutionary Army." Two years after the filming began, the girls have grown but they have not changed their minds.

UCLA Student Film, Preserved by the UCLA Film and Television Archive. A woman flips through radio channels and a newspaper, activitating a collage of archival and documentary footage. Footage of President Regan's speeches and upper-class dinners are contrasted with images of poor people in the twentieth century, thereby critiquing social inequities and contemporary Regan administration policies which uphold systems of poverty. Uses experimental video technologies in image and technique, including video overlay, color inversion, and blue-screen techniques.

A biographical film on Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan (Badshah Khan). He was also lovingly known as the Frontier Gandhi for his firm belief in the non-violent movement. This film presents Badshah Khan's visit to India, when he came to receive the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Award for International Understanding. This Award was handed over to Badshah Khan by India's President, Mr.VV Giri in 1967.

Metal is a circular sculpture, measuring 3 metres in diameter. Mercury is poured upon its base until the whole surface is covered in a layer of the metal, the thickness of which is established on the cohesiveness of the mercury itself, the liquid with the greatest surface tension. Once poured, the metal acts like a skin that picks up vibrations from the ground and the air while a spotlight transfers these surface waves onto the wall making them visible. The whole piece is simply supported to show the properties of the material.

A young kitten explores the world, learning about the history of cats, and showing humans the best ways to care for their feline friends.

The first part of the film focuses on life in the homestead of Baldambe, a Hamar elder, who comments on the intricacies of herding goats, the division of labour and the moral obligations obtaining between the members of his family. The second part deals with sacrifice and the ancient art of reading the entrails which are used in Hamar to cope with the physical and social threats of illness.

Looking back at the 1983 World Rally Championship season the quality of the field and the array of stunning cars is simply breathtaking. Besides defending champ Walter Röhrl and eventual victor Hannu Mikkola, there were no fewer than six past or future champions in the field: Stig Blomqvist, Markku Alen, Ari Vatanen, Timo Salonen, Miki Biasion, Björn Waldegård and Juha Kankkunen. With the introduction of the Lancia 037 and Audi Quattro A1 in the early 1980s, World Rallying had entered the supercar age and the big money attracted big name drivers and made for sensational showdowns on gravel, ice, tarmac and snow. With Audi and Lancia throwing the kitchen sink at their factory efforts the battle between the German and Italian rallying giants dominated the whole season and the furious back and forth battle went all the way to the wire.

A worn record by Lou Reed, clips of film, texts that run on the video and are erased: traces of D. Sounds and images collected and rearranged, which recompose a simulated portrait, perhaps not resembling its original, but in which an attempt has been made not to lose that found charge of poetry and provocation. This film was made in 1982, on randomly recovered Super 8 material, shot by D., a seventeen-year-old boy, between 1977 and 1978, and completed with texts taken from interviews recorded in the same period. We have tried to transform forgotten finds, made of hallucinated and lucid self-portraits, significant of an original way of experiencing the condition of youth into active and narrated documentation.

Freefall is a dance piece which explores the theme of twinned energies acting in harmony. Two continuous flute tones gradually move apart, defining a range of tensions as they do so. At the same time, two dancers move through a sequence of static tableau which act as a graphic notation for the film score. In the second sequence, the dancers improvise accelerating gestures, moving ever closer to an abstracted choreography of kinetic shadows and light. The third sequence ties the physical movements of each dancer to a minimal piano score, in which each note or phrase corresponds to a fragmentary gesture or action.

With the beginning of the WWI, despite Iran's neutral position in war, some troops invade Iranian territories and due to the irresponsibility of the government and the army, there is nothing they could do. In such period, Mirza Koochak Khan rises. Many men join him and help him in his goal. Not so long after that, rumors of treason against him and his uprising are heard and conspiracies against him make him escape to Russia, after Dr. Heshmat's execution.

The room is dark, lit only by a light bulb over a table on which the artist lies motionless. Empty chairs surround the table. Her body is bloodstained, covered with entrails, wrapped in plastic, and her head is firmly covered in surgical gauze. On the soundtrack news reports about civil war and speeches of Western leaders talking about peace can be heard.

A free association of Poe’s theme. In Poe’s work, all evil comes from and inside of a man. Marks went the opposite way. Here, the cat is the personification of evil, which provokes human aggression with its aggression. This – actually fictitious – animal causes in man hatred and the desire to kill.

Set in St. Augustine, Florida, “A Fairy Tale” is a masterpiece of geometry and rhythm, as lines and shapes are set to, and create, a silent percussion. Hang On a Minute addressed issues topical to the political landscape of the period – many of which are still urgent today, from Greenham Common to domestic violence – with formal ingenuity, wit and contained but steel-edged anger at injustice. Here language unrolls across the screen in the form of statistics, newsprint, legal document, poetry, prose and hand-written words; it is spoken, sung and recited.

Patients under the influence of alcohol, doctors, blood, and Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik – there are mini-dramas taking place in a trauma center where intoxicated individuals are brought in.

Chattering school boys first learn of the secret of palm reading. They stare at the overly short lifeline, all of a sudden, the fear of death seeps into their youth. The black and white images exude repression and melancholia, mixed with the angst for mortality and the memory of deceased loved ones. Time flies by like the train speeding past town. With the desire to live, the boys run forward, attempting to break free from destiny.
