A cashier gambles and robs a bank, but returns the money for his mother's sake.

The story of "Jack" is well-known. It is a beautiful story of a natural child. His mother, Ida de Borancy, worships the dear little nameless and fatherless being whom she decides, as he is getting on in years, to place in a boarding school. The child's professor of literature is a certain Amaury D'Argenton, a failure of the faculty, and an uninspired poet. During one of her visits to the institution, Mme. de Borancy is attracted by D'Argenton, and falls in love with him. The "Ne'er-do-Well" soon gives up his starving position and makes his abode with her, exercising over her absolute control. He soon learns to hate little Jack and forces her to leave him permanently at school. The poor child, unaccustomed to the separation, runs away, only to find, when he arrives at his former home, that his mother has moved and is now living thirty miles away. He undertakes the journey on foot, and reaches his mother's house completely exhausted. Here he meets Dr. Rivals and his daughter, Cecil.

Wena, a Māori princess, is told by a sorceress that "she will marry a white man, tall and handsome, with eyes as fair as the sky and a fair beard". Chadwick a trapper who was hunting in the bush is captured and brought to the pa to be burnt at the stake to provide "white mans meat". Wena recognises Chadwick as that man, but the young chief Te Heuheu arrives to court her. She helps Chadwick escape and they swear eternal love. Chadwick goes through the geysers to his hut on the lake, but they are discovered there by Te Heuheu. Chadwick is threatened with death, so she returns to the tribe. But when she is near death from pining for him her father the chief relents. Chadwick is made a chief, she recovers and the tribe celebrates with a feast.

Rigadin and fiancee Andree Pascal are happily anticipating their nuptials when a baby is delivered to Prince. Mlle Pascal thinks the worst -- as comedy characters do, on the rare occasion they are called upon to think -- and walks out. This leave the broken-hearted Prince to deal with the infant.

When Pierre Dormain and his wife die in a train disaster, the custody of their children Simon and Dédée is transferred to their uncle Jean de Mareuil. The uncle is persuaded to let his servant’s mother take charge of their care. The money she receives for the care is spent entirely on alcohol and the children have to work hard for their meal. Eventually the children run away from home and roam the streets of Paris. When one of the children is seriously injured after an accident, the uncle finally realizes he has made a grave mistake.

The authentic cinematic documentary was filmed by Alexander Zhekov at the front during the military conflict of 1912–1913. This is the earliest film entirely created by a Bulgarian author and one of the few works in the world that fully reflect a military conflict of that time.

Frank Johnson, a wealthy landlord, without a heart, has no mercy for the poor. His cold attitude towards the public in general has a great influence in his life, and when he proposes marriage to Eleanor Groves, his manner is indeed anything but that of love. Eleanor, although she cares for Johnson, reprimands him and tells him that she could never marry a man as cruel as he is. Her last line of rebuff, "The ghost of your better self will appear to you and make you realize what a beast you are," gets Johnson to thinking.

This short film using animated puppets to show a fly trying to escape a spider is a little masterpiece. The technique is quite surprising, and the fly's tricks reminds quite closely many later animated films.

A man caught in a fight causes pain to his sympathetic twin.

A man receives a brand new £100 note from the bank. He gives one of these notes to a friend from the Royal Club. He jokingly says, "You won't be seeing that again any time soon". A wager is born, because Gardefeu bets that he can find the same note again within three months, no matter which way it travels around the world.

Watching the dial of a taxi-cab is like a fall on a slippery pavement. It is funny, only when the other fellow suffers.

With a few exceptions, the film consists of picturesque vistas, as referred in the title. What brings the snapshots to life is the beauty of nature -- springtime Southern Estonian landscape. The film introduces Vällamägi, Haanja, the 318-metre Munamäe Hill, Lake Vaskna, River Võhandu, and the ruins of the Vastseliina Bishop Castle. The end with the church of Räpina is somewhat out of context.

John Bunny has an unusually tiring days work and arrives home completely fagged out. His wife and son, Dave, have prepared a surprise for him in the shape of a dinner-party, to which several guests have been invited. Not knowing this, Bunny goes to his room and gets into bed instead of dressing for dinner. In the dining room, his wife and guests are anxiously awaiting his arrival. Mrs. Bunny turns off the lights and instructs the guests to rise and cheer when he enters the room. Then she calls to her husband. Not expecting company. Bunny descends the stairs in his pajamas and is seen by the scandalized guests. Indignant at what they consider a very poor joke, they all depart hastily, leaving Bunny to comfort his wife and explain matters as best he can. Before he goes upstairs to dress, his son, Dave, arrives with his sweetheart, who also sees him in flimsy attire and flees from the room. Dave rushes after her and explains things. After a good laugh, she consents to stay to dinner.

A young gambler plays a game of chess against his creditor in order to clear his debts. Whilst playing he falls into a dream where he encounters a mysterious man who has the power to take his identity. This 1913 French film followed hot on the heels of the similarly themed German classic "The Student of Prague". For many years believed to be a lost film, this is no longer the case.

After a time of suspended activities, Zigomar attempted to rob the biggest bank in Paris; but in this he was frustrated by the detective. Swearing vengeance he tried to wreck the train upon which the detective was traveling, but one of the detective's spies got wind of it and warned him.

Oscar is on the trail of a new conquest. This serials played by Léon Lorin and various feminine actors, here Angèle Lérida, is full of comic elegance, parisianism of the Grands Boulevards and a real taste for fine shots.
