Sam was 11 and was not quite sure where he lived. The only thing he knew for certain was that he went to Woolverstone Hall - a stately mansion in Suffolk which is now a boarding school. It's not a traditional public school, but a comprehensive - and it's run, improbably, by the Inner London Education Authority. For boys like Sam, Woolverstone is security. Many of the pupils here come from deprived homes. It's more expensive than Eton. ILEA wants to close Woolverstone, but Headmaster, Richard Woolett , is not prepared to give up....

The Shuar Indians live on the western edge of the tropical rainforest, between the Amazon lowlands in the east and the Andean highlands in the west, on the territories of the two states Ecuador and Peru. "Earlier, when I was a child, my grandfather took me by the hand and led me up a hill. He was already walking with a stick, but was still strong. He said to me: This land is Shuar land and the one who created this nature is a being called Arútam. When I die, you children will have to defend this land that belongs to us. These words are forever etched in my memory" (Antonio Chiriap, regional president of the Shuar-Federation).

Always one of the highlights of the international calendar, the Acropolis Rally attracted entries from Audi, Renault, Nissan, Lancia, Volkswagen, Skoda and Polonez. The Lancia Delta HF Turbos, in the hands of Markku Alen, Miki Biasion, Mikael Ericsson and Juha Kankkunen, were expected to provide the main threat, while Audi fielded two new 200 Quattros for Hannu Mikkola and Walter Rohrl, who had finished first and second on the Safari. Kankkunen had won the Acropolis in 1986 on his way to the World Championship, and was confident of giving the Martini Racing Team victory. But on the demanding, dusty back lanes and tracks of the Kamena Vourla, the stronger challenge was thought to be more likely from the big Nissans. This video captures all the excitement of the furious pace of the Acropolis, mixing as it did, dry, flat-out sprints alongside rain-lashed hillsides in the later parts.

It is a strictly non-documentary work, a reinterpretation of Massimo Liviadotti's iconography born from a transversal reading of his works. An anti-exhibition on magnetic tape free from any celebratory emphasis. More than a videocatalogue, the other world is a work of visual anthropology that uses Liviadotti's paintings as pieces of an electronic inlay while shifting the terms of the static nature of painting into the dynamism of videos.
