A masterpiece of the creator who has continually been expressing the minimal world overflowing with solitude by fixing the gaze on a subject. The camera does not take its focus off the underpass ground. In the beginning of the piece, Ohtani films the floor as he walks, and the paving looks like any ordinary paving. When he stops and repeatedly zooms focus on the floor, the pale floor reflected by fluorescent light starts to transfigure into some cosmic form; a field of clouds or an ocean surface. Eventually, when the humming of the film particles vibrate the light on the floor like a mysterious organism, we encounter the power of minimal gaze that can only be expressed with 8mm film.

Because his father and mother, his brothers and sisters had been killed by a large expensive car, Alfred Jodocus Kwak lived with his stepfather Henk de Mol in a wooden house on the banks of the Snelle Vliet in the reeds of Groot Waterland. And if you sail past in a boat, you might hear Alfred Jodocus Kwak singing. "Splash, splash, nice and cool in the water, go home now, I'll be there in a drop." The musical fable of Alfred Jodocus Kwak (lyrics: Herman van Veen; music: Herman van Veen, Erik van der Wurff, Harry Sacksioni) was first performed by the Amsterdam Youth Theater in Carré on Sunday, August 29, 1976. Eleven years later, Herman van Veen sang and narrated the musical fable in various European cities, accompanied by the Groot Waterlands Symphony Orchestra conducted by Erik van der Wurff. The performance in the Elisabethzaal in Antwerp was recorded by Veronica television, directed by Geert Popma.

Beautiful slowed down images, often framed through doors and windows, offer a metaphorical and lyrical journey of discovery through memory. The silent images of childhood memories contrast with room interiors and windows. The seemingly innocent nature of the children at play is threatened by the haunting sounds of their voices over the interior spaces.

Der General defies narrative conventions. As a visual experience and thanks to the manipulations of color and the processing of images, Der General deploys its own logic and becomes a consistent whole in its visual expression. Plunged into a world of abstract fairy tale, traces of dreams, the nature and history of Germany converge and shape a timeless and limitless kingdom.

Be warned, this campaign from the now defunct anti-fur trade pressure group Lynx fully deserves its 18 rating, as it starts out in a genuinely unsettling mood of David Lynch weirdness, then triumphantly embraces the sort of gut-level revulsion Lucio Fulci and David Cronenberg utilised in their most effective shockers to hammer the point home.

Badiaga follows the rules of a classical tragedy. A three year old girl abandoned in a food market is sheltered and raised by a deaf and dumb vagrant. They develop a very strong bond. Badiaga dreams of becoming a famous singer and listens in total fascination to the artists who sing in the different cafés where she wanders. One day she has the chance of singing on the radio a song which becomes a national hit. From that moment onwards she holds a nonstop succession of concerts. In love with her career, she refuses any romantic relations and searches desperately for her origins. This story was inspired by the life of Beti-Beti, a legendary Cameroon singer.

In CONTINUUM, the world, the workers within the world and the labor of making the film itself are equated through montage and a brilliantly concentrated filmic "painterliness." The result is an experimental film which is at the same time a document of propaganda in the sense that at its conclusion, one finds oneself closer to the science of the motion of society in its monumentality with streets, buildings, the building of them and the workers and their instruments, creating a constructivist poetry within the eyes.
