Large companies advance money to traders or middlemen, who in turn provide advances in cash or food to the producers, to be repaid in wool. To supplement their diet, the farmers make long journeys to the lower valleys to exchange the products they produce on the high plateau, such as wool, textiles, and meat, for agricultural products like corn, barley, and wheat grown by the communities in the lower valleys.

Journalist and director Felicia Lowe’s search for the roots of her father’s family results in a warm, insightful portrait of Mainland China in 1979. Her journey takes us through the streets of Beijing where street dialogues reveal the curiosity of local people about the lives of the Chinese in America to a conversation with an English-speaking woman who, like Lowe, is a working mother, but it is the landscapes in the faces of her aunts, uncles, cousins and 85-year-old grandmother that are the greatest rewards of the voyage.

In this short parody, Wegman plays an earnest drawing professor — a character that recalls television's Mr. Rogers — who demonstrates to Mark Magill's eager student how all drawing is based on "natural shapes" and how one can "learn by doing." Employing the stylistic conventions of a low-budget television "how-to" show, Wegman and Magill parody the notion of artistic instruction.

Animated short from the cartoonist. A man has a horrifying incident at a restaurant.

Images of cars more or less broken: broken windows replaced by sheets or plastic flying in the wind, held together by construction bricks, broken headlights. These shots are interlaced with others of damaged plastic tarps on construction sites.

Stephen Varble began Journey to the Sun as a series of performances with projected slides in 1978. After becoming notorious for unauthorized costume performances on Soho streets in the mid 1970s, Varble receded from his public persona at this time. Deriving from his identification with his idol, the reclusive actress Greta Garbo, and informed by the spiritual practice of Subud, Varble began writing an allegorical epic about a musician, the Grey Crowned Warbler, who undergoes tribulation and metamorphosis on a journey to transcendence.
