After the creation of Israel in 1948, Palestinians who chose to remain on their land were banded into farming communities. Most of this land has since been lost to Israeli kibbutz and moshav settlements. The Palestinians, who number one in six Israeli citizens, now must commute to work in Israeli cities, or farm land that is no longer theirs. They also must contend with discriminatory practices in housing, employment, and education, even though they are Israeli citizens. Centering on Umm el-Fahm, the largest Arab village in Israel, ON OUR LAND tells the story of an ill treated segment of Israel's population which has largely been ignored.

Shows the effect of the harassment women live with every day, ranging from ‘street humour’ and media stereotyping to actual physical violence. The film was made by women who lived in Leeds during the 1970s and early 80s, when a series of murderous sexual attacks by the so-called Yorkshire Ripper led to a virtual ‘curfew on women’. In response, the many women’s groups already active in the area decided it was time to put their own point of view.

"A single shot, taken from Douglas Sirk's film ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS (1955), in which we see the camera pull out from Jane Wyman's tearful face as she looks out of her window at snow falling, is slowed down, repeated and blown up in different permutations on three screens to portray a sense of kitsch or overblown, yet authentic, loss. Lis Rhodes' poem dwells on the moments before a political thought is translated into a distinctive physical organisation, such as the women who surrounded the Greenham missile base. Part of 'Hang on a Minute', a series of thirteen 1 minute films which grew out of a series of short poems written by Lis Rhodes, reflecting on the traditional patterns of oppression in women's lives (pornography, violence, nuclear weapons) and the many forms that resistance takes. Made with the artist Jo Davis and commissioned by Channel 4 for television broadcast.

Between 1982 and 1984, Piper staged a series of events advertised as, Funk Lessons, which invited participants to learn about the dance styles, culture, and history of funk music. As documented in a video by Sam Samore, the experience transcended academic didacticism in favor of social exchange; Piper's mantra for the work was, "Get down and party together."

Super 8 short about a ghost that kills a group of teenagers at Christmastime.

Clad in resplendent Scottish regalia, Macbeth sits next to a woman reading the Oxford Companion to English Literature's dry-as-dust synopsis before the "tomorrow and tomorrow" soliloquy finally introduces Shakespeare's original poetry. To emphasize this already Brechtian approach, the single-take treatment frequently (and deliberately) reveals both lights and a crouching sound recordist.

She Said explores the theme of women and work, using the formal properties of film to reflect on the overlap between work and free time. The film begins with a series of old and contemporary photographs, cut to a rhythm, which echoes that of monotony. A fragmented dialogue creates a feeling of alienation and lack of control (often identified with the labour process), interrupting further sequences of live action and images. “Feeling strongly that women's work is continuous, I realised that the film work could only be seen after work or in moments of non-work which I hesitate to call leisure. With this in mind I tried to bring this contradiction to the surface within the film itself”' (Susan Stein)

Impetigo is the story of passion and possession in a steamy nocturnal landscape. The title is a reference to the poem A Man All Grown Up Is Supposed To, by Terry Stokes. The characters: Zeke, an inhibited birdlike creature, Flake, a post-industrialist robot and Fish, a fish, live in a barren tract amidst surveillance and entrapment. Their main concerns are lust and what to do on weekends.
