The story revolves around extortion and blackmail, with a notorious con artist making life impossible for everyone else.

Bob Hammond, a promising young boxer, is taken east by his manager to meet some of the better men in his class. Bob promises his sweetheart, Maggie Dowling, he will return and marry her. In the past he becomes champion in his class, and is known as "The Battler."

One of the tenants is giving a "rag" party for his dancing friends causing the plaster from the ceiling to fall on a couple (Frank Hayes and Billie Brockwell) who are eating dinner in their apartment below. The irate couple call the manager, Bobby Dunn, to repair the ceiling. He arrives immediately and the balance of the picture is devoted to the destruction wreaked by the plasterer who is not only extremely careless but inebriated as well.

Basil, sent to a West Indian island to look after his brother's interests, so antagonizes the planters that they form a secret organization for the purpose of throwing off the Harcourt yoke. Irene, who has just inherited her father's plantation, refuses to join. Basil is later slain under circumstances which cause Irene to believe herself the murderess.

When the stagecoach is about to pull out on its daily trip, Jack, the driver, finally locates Tom, the coach guard, in a saloon where a fight is in progress and Jack helps Tom whip several of the cowboys. One of the cowboys vows revenge and plots to hold up the stagecoach.

After Eddie Plum discovers oil on the family ranch, he and his widowed mother move to the city where they meet Lord Burlington, a British fortune hunter. Burlington introduces the Plums to two socialites, Mrs. Van Zant, and Betty, her daughter, and while Burlington woos Mrs. Plum, Eddie falls in love with Betty. A double wedding is arranged, but on the day of the ceremony, Mrs. Plum announces that the deed to her land has been stolen and without it, she has no claim.

Cretinetti is about to get married and he could not be any happier and more in love with his Junoesque consort. But just on the day of his wedding, he reads a notice on the wall explaining how to behave in the case of an enemy air raid. The fear that grips him makes him even too literal in implementing safety indications, causing trouble and accidents that will not only stop him from enjoying his first marital night, but will even cause the collapse of the whole house. In the end, the gendarmes go to him with a conscription notice and take him away under coercion, under the appalled gaze of his new bride.

When a fire breaks out there, the count discovers the secret of his enchanted box. He discovers an ancient document called "Notes of the Court Jester of the Castle" and reads this document. Now he discovers the reason for the curse.

Larry Moore is a young amateur actor and lives at the same boarding house with Adele Lawrence, a rising young star, who has just secured the leading part in a play called "The Love Behind the Throne." Moore has been unsuccessful in his attempts to get a place and Adele sympathizes with him deeply.

'Hero Of The Dardanelles' charts the fortunes of Will Brown (Guy Hastings) who answers his nation's call to do his duty. While only one third of the original film survives, it is a significant fragment of Australia's film heritage - not least for its inclusion of real troops and a real training camp at Liverpool, NSW and an elaborate re-enactment of the Gallipoli landings staged at Tamarama Bay. So convincing was the re-enactment that within a decade of 'Hero's' release, the landing sequence was being used erroneously as actuality. A hit with home-front audiences, whose appetite for heroic figures was yet to be sobered by the harsh realities of a protracted and bloody conflict, the film's anti-pacifist stance and clear messages to women about their duty to their own menfolk, provide valuable depictions of political currents of the day. Reconstructed in 2005, only 22 minutes of the original 44-minute production survive today.

Adams is hoping for a son the same night that "Spider" Barlow plans to make a haul at the Adams house. While Adams smokes in the library, outside "Spider" waits for him to retire. The burglar enters the house. The maid is awakened and corners him in a closet. Adams comes, and explains the need for quiet, leaving the maid on guard with a gun. When Adams goes to send a hurry call for the doctor, "Spider" relieves the maid of the gun, and taking advantage of the opportunity, rifles the house. Acting as self-appointed butler, "Spider" admits the doctor, and removing the gag long enough to give the maid three kisses, departs in the doctor's limousine with the doctor's coat and bag.

Jim Maitland loses his last cent gambling the Double Stamp saloon and gambling hall, and shortly after it closes, he robs the proprietors "Keno" Bates and "Wind River"are robbed, at gunpoint. After the surprise, they track Maitland down, and Keno shoots him dead on self defense. Keno goes through his belongings and finds a letter and a locket; the letter announces the arrival of the deceased's sister, and the locket has a cameo picture of Doris Maitland. Thus, Keno tells Wind River they must do a heap of lying. Meeting the girl at the stagecoach's arrival, Keeno feels responsible for the innocent and attractive Ms. Maitland; he tells her a white lie, that her brother was a good man, "killed in a mine accident," who had left her a cabin and money - and Keno turns his own cabin over to Doris. Keno and Doris began to fall in love. Anita, a dance-hall girl, aggressively tries to seduce Keno.

Mrs. Murphy runs a boarding house in a small western town and has trouble in keeping a cook, for the cowboy boarders insist upon eloping with them. After losing two cooks, Mrs. Murphy induces a couple of the cowboys to try their skill, but this does not prove successful. An employment agency is importuned to send Mrs. Murphy a girl cook.

After a misspent youth on the wrong side of the law, Teddy finally meets a woman capable of making him break with the past and settle down. Unfortunately, his debt to a loan shark has forced him to pledge part of his future wife’s dowry. When it turns out that his father-in-law has decided to pay the dowry in smaller instalments and will not pay out a lump sum until after three years of marriage, Teddy finds himself in serious trouble. During a fire, Pina is saved by her young cousin Enrico, who is blinded by the flames. The girl becomes Enrico’s guide, and the two earn their living as street musicians. Pina falls in love with Count Manlio, who sets her on the path to a singing career. For the sake of success, she abandons Enrico, but years later, overcome by remorse, she decides to leave Manlio in order to care for her cousin once again.

A drunken Clark threatens a moneylender, blacks out, and wakes to find the man murdered. He flees from police who find his bloodied stick, then discovers the real killers and brings them to justice after a struggle.

Prof. Jaquin Delano joins a circus to study practical zoology. Old man Cummings is the guardian of Anita, a beautiful girl. Cummings rages because the circus tents are pitched too near his palatial home. Anita visits the menagerie tent, sees Jaquin and is impressed with his kind treatment of the wild beasts.

Dance hall girl, Daisy Wellington, is dismissed after falling ill. A young ranchman takes her to his cabin and helps her recover. She falls in love with him but ultimately sacrifices her newfound life by returning to the dance hall to earn money to bring his wife out west after the ranchman's savings are stolen by bandits.

Eli Turner, an unscrupulous lawyer, is defeated in court by Frank Morrison, a young attorney. Frank also has had the temerity to get in Turner's path over a girl. Now Turner plots to send Morrison to prison, but Nance, a mountain girl, who admires Frank, warns him of his danger.

Another of the fast and furious slapstick comedies produced for Keystone that is long on speed and mugging and short on jokes. Gussle and his wife decide to go mountain climbing and shoot at each other in a not very interesting effort. Syd does not even manage his usual graceful surprise movements in this, but spends, like most of the cast, a lot of time falling down.

The little fantasy film The Story of Jewel City was made for the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. It stars two little girls otherwise unknown to cinema: Kathlyn Dempsey as the Fairy of the Portals, & Catherine Lund as the Little Soldier Fairy. The portal fairy materializes between doric columns by a pond. She flies over domes & buildings then comes to another land where a soldier fairy guards a cannon. The soldier fairy walks among the corpses of the slain, baring her sword.

Borden, who nurses a secret grievance against Helen, awaits an opportunity for revenge. The girl telegrapher receives a message which informs her that the freight of which Easton is conductor, is to wait at Workman until the Fast Mail passes.

Lynn and Alan both love Mary. Because he deems it his duty to support his widowed mother, Lynn hides his love although he is the favored suitor. Piqued, Mary becomes Alan's wife. Both boys work in the village bank. Lynn comes upon Alan while the latter is intoxicated and helps him home. Thus Lynn meets Mary for the first time since her marriage. Alan witnesses this meeting. His jealousy aroused, the man orders Lynn from his house. Obsessed by a desire for revenge, Alan steals a sum of money from the bank and falsifies Lynn's books so as to make it appear that the latter had committed the crime.

Discovered by Marston in the act of robbing the safe, Mann, the crook, shoots and slays him. The murderer escapes, carrying with him a casket containing jewels. So strongly do circumstances point to Lyda, Marston's daughter, as the slayer, that she is tried for the crime. Despite the evidence of the butler and other servants, who tell of a violent quarrel between Lyda and her father just prior to the shooting, the girl is acquitted.

Grace Leonard, a typical woman of the New York stage, beautiful but old in sin, seduces William Craig, who becomes a thief in order to shower luxuries upon her. He is sentenced to prison and emerges five years later as a sad-faced, gray-haired man, entirely cured of his mad passion for La Valencia. But she sees him and her old passion is stirred, meaning nothing to her that since his release from prison, he has fallen in love and married a good woman who knows nothing of his past. When William is not swayed by her fascinations, Grace threatens to expose his past life. A lost film.
