Cinematic Era: 1915 Vintage

Based on the 1856 Gustav Räder play Robert and Bertram about the adventures of two wandering vagrants, which has been turned into films on several occasions.

Sherlock Holmes' arch enemy Stapleton has escaped a watery death in the 1914 "Hound of the Baskervilles" and returns to torment Lord Henry and his fiancée.

A husband and wife swear never again to sneak out on each other with their friends, and are both faced with complications when they go back on their word.

Broncho Billy, while in a dance hall, goes to the assistance of the girl who is playing the piano, when a patron tries to force her to drink. As a result, the girl loses her position. A few days later Broncho Billy finds her wandering about the streets. She tells him the sad story of her life, and how through her innocence, she was led into a shameless life. Broncho Billy falls deeply in love with her, and shortly after asks her to become his wife.

Amos Dyer receives word from Washington that there are wireless messages being transmitted from a point in Oregon to foreign battleships off the Pacific Coast. Dyer, the Secret Service representative on the Coast, sets out with his assistant, Calhoun. He arrives, assumes the disguise of an invalid being wheeled about in a chair by his assistant and interviews the regular wireless operator at that point. The suspicions of the Secret Service Department are verified.

A wagon load of powder explodes, destroying the railroad trestle under which it is passing; Helen, knowing that a passenger train is due within a few minutes, climbs aboard a freight car which coasts down a steep grade near the trestle. As it nears the structure, she applies the brakes, leaps to the ground, crawls across the burning trestle

Talby is a celebrated tragedian. Among his most fervent admirers is Gaby Sombreuse. One day, Gaby meets her idol in the flesh and is... very disappointed. Talby, for his part, falls madly in love with the young woman while realizing the age gap is impassable. Six years later old age takes its toll: nobody wants Talby on the boards any more. To survive, the old thespian has no other choice but to become a clown in a small circus.

The secluded life of sturdy young lighthouse-keeper Robert and his wife Anna is interrupted by a visit from a stranger, Harry Nelson, a sportsman and novelist in search of adventure. They give him a hearty welcome, and while Robert goes to catch a mess of fish for dinner, Anna entertains the stranger with a tour of the lighthouse and the jagged cliffs surrounding it. In return Nelson tells Anna stories of his life in the city.

A combination of Lightning Sketches along with stop-motion animation illustrate England's reactions and responses in World War One.

A tragic miniature. Pavel Yartsev, aided by a footman, robs his mistress Ellen Belogorskaya. But the pearls in the stolen necklace turn out to be fake. The movie is not fully preserved, without inscriptions.

Sharky, a rival road agent, plots to spoil a trial run to be made on Helen's road that will win a mail contract. He opens a waste valve on the tank of the engine, and, when nearing Lone Point, the water tank runs dry. Helen comes to the rescue by mounting the new gasoline speeder and starting off with the mail for the end of the run.

Ethel Dunne and Jack Blakeney are sweethearts, despite the objections of Ethel's father. Mr. Dunne has just admonished the young couple when he is entrapped by a flirtatious gypsy beauty. When an innocent but comprising, situation occurs the gypsy’s husband Tony appears and demands $1,000 in a designated spot to escape an Italian bomb. Ethel and Jack find the note so when Dunne leaves the money, Jack arrests Tony and banks the money to Ethel's credit. Arriving home Father Norton tells of his great bravery in foiling the designing gypsy, but Jack and Ethel reveal their part in the little comedy.

The two best buddies Ernst and Albert are pursuing the same girl. The girl leads them onto the ice in the form of an ice rink, where the two act awkwardly as non-skaters. But even on the ice rink, neither of them wants to give in, and the fight for the girl becomes increasingly intense. Suddenly, the girl's enraged groom appears and puts an abrupt and powerful end to the duel. This decision, imposed by a third party, leads to the two fighting cocks Ernst and Albert reconciling. Lost.

Alessandra, illegitimate daughter of a count, is raised in a circus. Everyone would like her to marry Anton, a rough gamekeeper, but she escapes helped by Count Erwin. The young girl falls in love with her savior but he has no serious intentions.

A young man gives life to a statue with disastrous results. Early adaptation of Frankenstein with the names changed.

Dirk Morgan, a trusted member of a powerful international criminal gang, receives word that the steamer Empress has left Melbourne with a secret shipment of gold; the letter also contains plans for the ship's hold and cabins. Dirk books passage for himself and Anne and they board the steamer in Sydney.

"Mr. Grex of Monte Carlo" is an interesting play of intrigue between the Grand Duke Augustus Peter of Russia, whose incognito is Mr. Grex, an English Secret Service agent, Lord Huntersley and a young American millionaire on pleasure bent, Richard Lane. Mr. Grex and two other diplomats who unofficially represent France and Germany, plan to meet as if by chance in Monte Carlo for the purpose of arranging a secret pact.

Jim and Molly are set to get married when Molly finds out about her fiancé's criminal past. Bill Carey weasels his way into Molly's heart in the interim, eager to relieve her of her savings.

Peter runs away from home after breaking a window. He seeks shelter in the hayloft of a church barn and meets the minister’s son Georgie and the family's ward Carmen. The trio get involved in a bit of mischief making which takes a hazardous turn when they start for a ride down a grade on a handcar and find themselves tearing wildly toward an onrushing express train. Georgie saves the day and chagrined Peter returns home.

During the Civil War, a young man joins the Union army. His sweetheart's brother, on the other hand, joins the Confederate forces. During a battle the Confederate is captured and brought to the young Union officer, who recognizes him, and later allows him to escape. For that action he is tried for treason, convicted and sentenced to hang. All that remains now is for President Abraham Lincoln to sign his death warrant.

The husband of the young woman is shot by a rejected suitor and she is left with an infant boy, who is to be spared until he reaches man's estate. Standing over the dead body of her husband she vows vengeance.

Who stole "The Millionaire Baby?" Did the plotting Doctor Pool finally accomplish his bold determination? Did Valerie Carew, former Burlesque Queen conquered by Mother-Love seize an advantageous opportunity and steal away her loved one? Did Marion Ocumpaugh have knowledge of Gwendolyn's disappearance? Did Justin Carew, finally recognizing his wife and desiring a reconciliation, see the light and kidnap his own child? This film is presumably lost.

Broncho Billy and his pals hold up a stagecoach. In rifling the mail bag, Broncho discovers a letter from his mother in which she begs him to come back home, as she is dying. Before he can comply, he and his band are captured. He is placed in charge of a young man, who hopes to get enough money from the reward for the capture of the bandits to marry his sweetheart.

Jimmie and Molly are a pair of sibling thieves-he a burglar, she a shoplifter. When Jimmie is arrested after a bungled job, he advises Molly to move somewhere new and follow the straight and narrow, which she does. However, when Jimmie participates in a jailbreak, he makes a beeline to disrupt her new life. A chance for escape presents itself but Molly pleads with Jimmie to surrender pointing out he’ll never be at peace if he doesn’t. Jimmie relents. His term served, Molly and Jim resolve to lead honest lives and their reformation is complete.

A family's newfound wealth causes problem after problem.

Abigail, the pretty daughter of a village school teacher, and Jared Guild are lovers. Bertha comes from the city to visit in the little town. Her charms prove too strong for Jared, who neglects Abigail to dance attendance upon the new belle. The country girl is broken-hearted, though she hides her sorrow from her erstwhile sweetheart. A wealthy young planter, however, soon cuts out Jared with Bertha.

All is proceeding according to plan until Diana slowly gets torn by on the one hand her duty as a spy, and on the other her passionate feelings for Captain Argo.

Just Nuts is a 1915 short comedy film featuring Harold Lloyd playing the character that preceded his glasses character. It is also the only surviving film featuring Lloyd as Willie Work

IN THE SWITCH TOWER stars Walter Edwards (who also directed) as Bill Wharton, a middle-aged alcoholic who was once a leading engineer with a railroad. Wharton is estranged from his son Joel (Frank Borzage), who now works as an executive with the railroad, but Frank does send him money through Bill's longtime friend, Louis Hall (Robert Hall).

Roy Norman and Marie Thompson are betrothed. However, a friend of Roy's, Allan Boyd, arrives and he and Marie are mutually attracted to each other. This attraction leads Marie to return the engagement ring to Roy. One evening, Marie pretends to have a headache to stay home from the opera with her parents, dismissing her maid, expecting a visit from Allan. Instead, Roy arrives, sees Marie with Boyd, and discovers their relationship. Later, Allan's brother, Dr. Boyd, informs Roy that Marie has been in an eastern hospital and has given birth to a baby. He shares a statement from Marie naming the father. A year later, Allan marries, having seemingly forgotten Marie.

This daft comedy stars funny-duo Fred and Joe Evans in a battle to secure an inheritance from an insane uncle.

When a woman's husband leaves town, she begins to see odd things happening in her house. Afraid that gangsters are after her, she becomes increasingly anxious.

Wealthy bachelor Forest Keene lives in a mansion with his nephew Rex Booth and housekeeper Janet. Rex and Janet are in love with each other, but Keene objects to the match threatening disinheritance in the event of a marriage. Gifted with an ancient knife, Keene nods off holding it, falling into a nightmare where he sees the ruination of them all because of his obstinacy. Awakening he realizes the folly of his objections and gives his consent to Rex and Janet’s union.

Broncho Billy, a young clergyman, is struck on the head and left for dead by his partner, just after they have struck it rich on a mining claim. He is found by a young Indian girl and taken to the Indian camp where he is nursed back to health. During his convalescence he teaches the girl the commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Kill," and the motto, "Forgive and Forget."

Because of a family feud, Bobby Scrawn's love for Mary Stretch seems hopeless, particularly after the young man has been spanked with a fence picket wielded by the sturdy arm of Pa Stretch. A few days later Mrs. Stretch gives a preliminary talk on tramps and how they can be saved. She announces the subject will be continued at her home on the following Thursday. Mary gets a startling idea and tells Bobby of it. Thursday arrives and twenty or more women are listening to Mrs. Stretch talk on hobos, when "Hungry Hank," a tough-looking and ragged tramp, applies at the kitchen door for a "hand-out."

A group of wealthy men try to corner the cotton market and force the price. They succeed in their plans and the market panics. To be completely successful, they must incorporate John Osborne, who controls a large amount of cotton, into their group. They approach him with their plan, but he refuses to accept it.

The widower Stensson lives a happy life on his farm with his two children.

The heraldic image of the fleur-de-lis weaves through the story of an orphaned girl, born with a birthmark in the shape of the insignia her mother had become obsessed with before her death, as her own fascination with the symbol leads her to a series of troubled relationships with powerful men. Partially lost: an unknown length of the film survives.

The Rev. William Morris is the director of a small church near a state penitentiary. He is convinced that a criminal is only a good man gone wrong. Dr. Bishop, a friend of the minister, has made a life-long study of this very subject. The doctor has a daughter whom the minister loves and to whom he is engaged.

Helen catches two yeggmen who have broken into a freight car which has been detached from a train because of a hot box and are attempting to rifle the safe. The yeggmen escape aboard a passing freight with Helen, who has leaped upon the caboose, in hot pursuit, along with the trainmen.

Twas the day before Christmas and all through the house burglars, Spider and Spike find no indication that the holiday will be a merry one for them. They pass a group of poor urchins looking longing at a store window full of toys and hit upon the idea to give the youngsters a Christmas which they will long remember. The wealthy Perry’s have bought many toys for their spoiled children and set them under the tree. When they retire, Spider in Santa Claus garb grab the gifts and make straight for the homes of the waifs where they deposit the many toys then spy on the youngsters’ joy in the morning.

The leader of "The Sons of the Brazen Joss," one of the Tongs, or Chinese social organizations, is murdered by Moy Wong, cunning leader of The Four Grains of Rice," a Tong of higher class and bitter enemies of the "Sons." Sworn to vengeance, the "Sons" await an opportunity to get even.

Upon learning that a gang of smugglers are using freight cars to bring Chinamen across the border, the railroad officials order all employees to keep a strict watch for traffic of this nature.

A husband scolds his wife for not being able to manage her finances better. Unbeknown to her, he's getting rich from a crooked stock scam he's started, and is making so much money that he brings it home by the basketful. Unbeknown to him, his wife, determined to prove that she's more capable than he thinks she is, takes the money and decides to invest it--in a new stock opportunity she's heard about.
