She poses as a dressmaker to see her daughter but when she is revealed as Marian by Richard and his new wife, she is forced to leave. "The Fable of the Girl Who Shifted the System" is about a girl called Ethel, who was very chatty but never could make a hit with the fellows. She talked too much about herself. At the parties she would talk herself blue in the face, but one by one the boys would get up and leave her. In despair she went to a wise married woman who told her she had the wrong system, that she should talk about the men. "The Fable of the Sarcastic Husband and the Lady Shopper" is about a "lady" who spent the entire day shopping at top speed, then brought home a small spool of thread.

A platonic experiment as to how a young couple should make love fails when it ceases to be platonic.

The years pass, and Kate has become a famous dancer.

A hunter shooting as the light engine is passing, wounds Benton who drops unconscious. The sportsman reports the accident. Helen, a telegrapher, receives word of the runaway train. Climbing into the cab of a locomotive in a siding, Helen jerks the throttle wide open. The engine rushes after the endangered express. Discovering his train is being pursued, the conductor of the Eastbound Express gives the signal to stop. Helen slows her engine down and tells of the danger. While the Eastbound locomotive goes to meet the runaway, Helen's engine draws the cars to safety. The runaway is halted in the nick of time. Helen's superb heroism results in her being showered with offers of marriage. But she enjoys her hazardous adventure too much to marry anyone yet. —Moving Picture World synopsis

One day she and her husband find Broncho Billy, an outlaw, lying in the road suffering from a wound. They take him to their home, and while the minister hastens for a doctor, his wife dresses the wound. She steps into an adjoining room, where she is confronted by the man who had been so cruel to her years before. He threatens to expose her if she refuses to give him money.

Slippery Slim, the Justice of the Peace, serves a notice on Hiram Clutts, threatening to foreclose his mortgage unless Sophie marries him the next day. Hiram agrees that Sophie shall marry him as he demands. Sophie tells Mustang of this and they plan to elope that night. Mustang calls for her in his buggy, but they fail to make their escape unnoticed by Hiram. He chases them with a shotgun, but is unable to catch them before they reach Slim's office. They disguise themselves and Slim, not knowing who they are, performs the marriage ceremony.

Fulfilling a promise made to his mother on her deathbed, Dr. James Gibson finds his sister Pauline who has run away after giving birth to an illegitimate child. His sister's mind has snapped and Gibson takes his sister and his baby niece home with him. The years pass and the niece has grown into a beautiful woman, while her mother is kept locked in a room that the young woman is forbidden to enter. Gibson and his wealthy neighbor, John Morris, are both interested in hypnotism, and one night the two men conduct an experiment by hypnotizing Gibson's niece. This film is presumed lost.

One day, while on a shopping tour with her chum, Rose, she is persuaded to buy two beautiful statuettes. The price was a little more than she could afford, but she thought she could pay her chum for them, thereby not creating the suspicions of her husband. Her conscience gets the better of her, however, and she confesses all to him. They quarrel.

Ralph Murray and his wife are devoted to each other, yet they have their usual lovers' quarrels. One afternoon, Murray calls to see a friend, Jack Carson by name, who insists that Murray take his wife to luncheon. It so happens that Mrs. Murray sees her husband with "the other woman." The gossips spread the news fast, which develops into a suicide and a death by a broken heart. Speak no evil and the world is a song; speak thou evil and the world goes wrong.

When his wife goes away on vacation, a husband decides to use that time to do a little "playing around" and winds up at a resort hotel with two young girls. Unbeknownst to him, his wife is at the same hotel, planning a little "playing around" of her own.

Dave and Phillip Hull, twins, are totally different in character. Dave is steady, slow to hate and true in love. Phillip, the gay and popular gambler, is perhaps more lovable on the surface, but shifty and flare-tempered underneath. Dave loves little Meg, daughter of Hardy, a cattle rustler. Dave does not know that the father is a cattle rustler, however.

Once there was a broad girl who had nothing to do except the two-by-four midget known as her husband, so she decided to help the poor. She thought it was a big help to the lowly and uncultured to see what a real razmataz lady was like, so when she was all hooked up behind, she galloped forth to do things to the poor.
