After receiving a call that her mother is ill, Yun-ji keeps getting lost on the subway on her way home. A young girl who lost her mother on the subway goes to the lost and found center and registers herself as a lost item. The following morning, Yun-ji leaves her sick mother behind. She listens to an announcement from a girl looking for her mother on the subway.

A ground-breaking project, Mind if I Call You Sir? is an oral history video project documenting queer Latina/o histories through testimonies on gender expression by self-identified Butch Lesbians and Female-to-Male Transgendered men. As a femme-identified Latina lesbian and community scholar, Karla E. Rosales has devoted her academic and artistic pursuits to issues of gender identity in the Latina community. Her research led her to uncover a growing rift between the ‘old school’ Butch Lesbian community and the rapidly-growing FTM community, whose numbers are increasing.

In Shape Shift, Stark uses two cameras positioned opposite each other to reveal, as Stark writes, “a body transposed upon itself.” In his boxers, Stark performs a simple and almost ritualistic dance sequence. He creates a “flicker” effect by rapidly switching between the images captured by these cameras, shifting the spatial perspective from one side to the other. This effect becomes especially interesting when Stark does things like look side to side, or sway his right arm, then the left. He showcases his ability to confuse and distort his body’s own form.

Delmas Howe is an artist who was born in the colorfully named town of Truth or Consequences, NM, once a wide-open sin city favored by cowboys on the trail and now home to a community of stubborn individualists. While Howe first made his name with classical depictions of life in the American West, after he came out as a gay man, he began a series of paintings which focused on images of the male form. Howe returned to his home town to show "Stations: A Gay Passion," a collection of paintings that blended biblical images with depictions of homosexual eroticism, at a local museum. As might have been expected, the exhibit was the subject of protests from the Christian Evangelical community, and The Truth or Consequences of Delmas Howe is a documentary which explores Howe's life, his work, and the controversy it has generated.

Before the advent of television, animated shorts were screened in movie theaters as part of the pre-feature presentation. When those classic cartoons were finally aired on television in the 1950s and '60s, many were shortened to fit into required broadcast time limits. Boasting crisply remastered sound and picture quality, this collection restores nine classic Christmas-themed cartoons to their original theatrical lengths for an authentic moviegoing experience from the Golden Age of Cinema: "Ginger Nutt's Christmas Circus," "Peeping Penguins," "A Waif's Welcome," "Christmas Comes But Once a Year," "Jack Frost," "Hawaiian Birds," "Hector's Hectic Life," "Snow Foolin'," and Max Fleischer's "Somewhere in Dreamland," which appears in its original Technicolored full-length for the first time in 50 years.

An erotic postcard from Paris is processed into the moving image of a young woman posing beside her mirror. She becomes the "Chloris" addressed in the soundtrack, a French song of similar date. The song appears on screen as a wave-form that intensifies the link between image and sound, and makes visible our own "period" and its technologies.

The trio Radian (the track «tester» is taken from their new CD «Juxtaposition», which was released in fall 2004) and Michaela Schwentner, who has translated several pieces by the three well-traveled sound researchers into images, are a proven team. This is a classic music video, though not really. The visuals are too autonomous, even if Schwentner goes along with the sounds at precisely their rhythm, reflects and emphasizes the growing intensity, and helps accentuate the fractures in the soundscape. The audio level is treated with greater respect than in conventional music videos, and the musical foundation is left unaltered rather than being (re)interpreted.

With Untitled, Seoungho Cho continues to refine and heighten the issues he has long pursued in his quietly beautiful work. The source material for this video was filmed in a Korean factory and at Information Technology College in Pusan, Korea, with extensive use of macro-focus and close-up. This intense examination of the behavior of industrial machinery is well suited to the precise, exacting quality of Cho's digital editing, in which "real" images are multiplied, re-sized, and rhythmically sequenced. The soundtrack, composed by the artist, alternates between stretches of silence and periods of eerie noise, complimenting the elegance of this composition.

A documentary about Bhutan's last postal runner made by Bhutan's first filmmaker. 49 year old Ugyen Tenzin is the last postal runner of Bhutan. He has been working for the Post for 26 years ago. He must walk by foot, by himself, for about a week, through the mountains of Bhutan to deliver the mail to Lingshi, a high mountain village (at 12,000 ft). The documentary follows him and the treacherous albeit beautiful journey, in both the winter and summer seasons, and was shot over three years. A documentary by Bhutan’s last postal runner by Bhutan’s first filmmaker.

Found Super 8 footage is the basis of this flicker film which has been hand treated with ink and bleach. Every other frame has been coloured with a black marker pen to create the flicker and cracked mosaic effect.

The color of an eternal city, Naples, its people, its sounds and its volcano.

Out of the Ether re-assembles disquieting images from decades-old hygiene and science films, merging them with the filmmaker’s own Bolex camerawork. It was re-photographed on the optical printer, toned and tinted to bring out pulsating hues of oozing greens and yellows.

Zero Tolerance reveals how deep seated prejudice can be. On one side are the city's young people, and on the other, its police force. Two worlds, two visions. Yet one of these groups is a minority, while the other wields real power. One has no voice, while the other makes life-and-death decisions.

The 'four eyes' are playing with musical toys and the ABC of cinema. The music has references to western traditional music that is usually ignored, like the music you used to produce as a child when biking with a piece of cardboard in the rearwheel, or whizzing with the help of a fast turning button on a string. The images refer to different filmgenres stripped from their storylines, lost in a rhythmical evolving universe. A video-system is used to project films and music on the screen; sound and vision are playing together. Analogue and digital techniques are combined.

In 2002, Carmen Castillo returned to Chile and did a memory exercise centred on the life of her father Fernando Castillo Velasco, former rector of Universidad Católica de Chile and Premio Nacional de Arquitectura (1983). This film tells the story of this return centred on the desire to get closer to the mystery of the life and work of an enlightened man. It is the time for a memory, not an expeditious biography. Fernando recounts excerpts from his life, his work as an architect, university rector and mayor of La Reina. From the "Fifth", the place of childhood, he remembers with sincerity and simplicity. Like a watchman, like a lighthouse, he illuminates our present, like a compass shows us the way to build a world where affection and social justice prevail.

"Voces de la Guerrero" is a documentary that shows the results and experiences of a photography and video workshop imparted to a group of street-kids at the Guerrero quarter in Mexico City. Apart from being the main characters, these guys are, to a great extent, also the directors of the film.
