The Gotthard is everything in one: a pass, a water castle, a bulwark, the shortest north-south connection in the heart of Europe, a sacred mountain and, since the opening of the road tunnel in 1980, a symbol of progress and independence – but also a symbol of traffic chaos and environmental problems.

Christy (Lauren Lee Smith) and the rest of the Cutter Gap community are just beginning to recover from a typhoid epidemic when a storm hits the rural alcove. In A New Beginning, the second of a two-part PAX production that began with A Change of Seasons, she gets stranded in the forest with Dr. MacNeill (Stewart Finlay-McLennan), and her fiancé David (James Waterston) risks life and limb to rescue her. Despite a loss of property, the town makes it through the storm relatively intact, but many have been changed by the experience. Christy, for instance, has come to see Dr. MacNeill in a new light, thus questioning her engagement to David. Will she marry the preacher or break off the engagement? Marriage is on the minds of several characters in this engaging recollection by the elderly Christy about her experiences as a young schoolteacher in the Smoky Mountains.

El Alma al Aire is the fifth studio album recorded by Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz in which he gives us interpretations that come from the soul, melodies in which it seems that the voice breaks. It is one of his more suggestive and emotive works. It beat all the records of sale of the Spanish market on having reached the 1,000,000 copies in the first week.

Through fragments of images, through cracks, love, anger, murder as an extreme act, and Medea's "exile," predetermined. Memories of functioning, revenge, punishment. Love is Memory. And Jason's absence—even as a black-and-white image—is precisely the admission of her great love. The music from Central Asia is her own memory, a past that also becomes the future. A return to mourning, without guilt.

Borzecka made a film about love. In this type of feature film, the characters are usually young, beautiful, and rich, or at least hold two of these characteristics. The heroes of this film are the complete opposite. They are neither young, rich, nor beautiful. At times, however, they become beautiful. With the love that brightens their faces, reduces wrinkles, eradicates years and ailments. It brings joy. It calms anger and despair. Borzecka found her characters in the senior clubs— places where older people, often alone, try to get out of the circle of isolation, have fun, and especially to love and be loved.

In 1998 a regular exchange of video letters was launched between a group of pupils in their fourth year at the Collège Georges Rouault in the 19th arrondissement in Paris. At the outset the video letters had been seen as an exclusively preventive experience. It was a much more important and fundamental experience : the discovery of the refreshing power of words. Words that had time to be constructed without being felt, both in school and in prison, as a trap (which is often the case). Little by little, the pupils and the prisoners took care of the recording of their video letters themselves. Following the example of the words, the images are raw, seeking themselves. But they are also borne by a rare tension, sensitivity, fragility. These are the images and the sounds which, two years later, we decided to organise into a film. To show an experience which also has to be closed by giving the protagonists a chance to speak one more time.
