Cinematic Era: 1996 Vintage

The third and last documentary part of the series of that began in 1991 with the "The Power of Generalissimo", first part. Here are the happened most important events in the Dominican Republic in the period between the 16 of August of 1952, date of the arrival to the of Negro Trujillo like President of the Republic, and the 8 of November of 1961, day of the exit of the country of Ranfis Trujillo and their family. Between the events treated in this part they stand out the trip from Trujillo to Spain, the Fair of La Paz, the kidnapping of Galíndez, the invasion of the 14 of June, the death of the sisters Mirabal, the execution of the dictator, and the death in which they participated in the plot against Trujillo, among other subjects. René Fortunato concludes therefore an historical revision that would be added to many others of equal magnitude in the literary order, but that in the audio-visual area has become the document more taken advantage of in terms its educative value.

Later the girl marries a rich ex-monk who dies of a heart-attack after six months. Then she buys a restaurant and falls in love with the musician Ko Thet. This relationship runs aground too. As Mi Thein Kywe gets richer, her need for a suitable spouse grows too. Will she find one?

On the 2nd of September 1944, just before its withdrawal from Greece, the Wehrmacht commits one of the most heinous Nazi crimes against humanity. German forces surround Hortiatis, unleashing their Greek collaborators, the infamous “Schubert supporters” upon the village’s residents. Before long, 146 people - mostly women and children - are brutally murdered, some of whom were burned alive in the local oven. In this documentary, the only two survivors from the martyr's oven recount those tragic hours of the holocaust.

Song of the Wanderer features a group of 'voiceless people', a part of the indigenous community in which the filmmaker resides. Due to frustrations with work, divorce, and life in general, they are often subject to isolation, emotional breakdowns, and even self-harm behaviours. The filmmaker engages them in genuine conversations, while inviting the viewer to listen to these 'voiceless people' sing: In their songs are their true feelings.

"Surviving Memory" is a film about the role of loss in the formation of identity. It is a narrative intercut with documentary fragments of political actions, which connect the various characters to event through collective memory. Through autobiographical spoken texts, the narrator relays fragments of a relationship between two Jewish women.

Swell is a documentary shot in Santa Cruz, California. Featured are women longboard surfers whose ages span four generations. It is a portrait of a community which shares their best waves, embraces new comers as well as old timers and comes together in a beautiful memorial, to show respect to the one they lost in the water, surfing. Swell is setting the record straight by revealing that women do surf and do it well!

Stop motion animation set in a dystopian industrialized society.

The one (actually two) and only program(s) for the Civil War Reenactor, and anyone who wants to know how soldiers were trained for the campaigns and battles in the War Between the States. This program has been purchased for National Park Service staff and volunteers, by museums and historic places for instruction on small arms firing, and by top-quality units who reenact the Civil War. Filmed at Petersburg National Battlefield, and historic Fort Mackinac, in Michigan, this is the only in-depth study of the army’s training manuals, with special attention paid to the variants that each side used for different units.

The veneration for Tonantzin-Guadalupe has been an essential Mexican theme underlying Mexican cultural and political values since the 16th century. Guided by the testimonies of Indigenous people, Mexicans of mixed heritage and Chicanos about this complex subject matter, we can understand why. The film was shot in 16mm and produced between July 1987 and February 1996.
