Three stories. A middle-aged man remembering his childhood, a couple living in a ghostly world, and a parody of filmmaking.

Saleh inherits a building after the death of his uncle, he is surprised to find out that tenants living in the building are suffering from different kind of problems caused by his late uncle especially the high rent that he used to collect from them which is higher than the amount agreed on in the contract. Saleh gets an offer from a rich man who wants to buy the building by any price but Saleh refuses that causes the rich man to ask one of his men to do the job of scaring the tenants so they would leave the building.

This film follows the lives over one year, shot during three intervals, of two Basque shepherding families who live in Santazi, a village in the foothills of the French Pyrenees. The film is the only Disappearing World film made in western Europe and it focuses on the continuity and change in the community. This film shows the rationality behind the choice the villagers are making.

Just north of the City of Edmonton lies Poundmaker’s Lodge, an addiction and mental-health facility specializing in treatment for Indigenous people. Founded in 1973 and still operational today, the Lodge’s programs and services are Indigenous-run and based in culturally appropriate recovery and healing techniques. Framing the short documentary with the words of the great Plains Cree Chief Pîhtokahanapiwiyin (Poundmaker), Alanis Obomsawin presents a frank examination of the root causes of substance abuse in Indigenous communities and how the absence of love and support – exacerbated by the impacts of colonialism and racism – created a legacy of alcoholism for some individuals. Through searing and emotional testimonies of people in the Lodge, this work presents portraits of courage and perseverance, and hope for future generations.

The film's artistic premise seeks a plastic equivalent to express the literary content of Gilbet K. Chesterston's prose. It is a graphic film showing the metamorphosis of a tree, the main character of the film. It is predatory and dangerous to the nature around it. It catches and feeds on birds, which, suspecting nothing, live among it.

A little girl finds a minitel by chance, and responds to "old dogs looking for puppies" with a nickname "little jesus loves animals."

Phil Kelly (played by William Heffernan) is the anti-hero; a restless teenager imbued with natural hurling ability and a strong aversion to studying. The location is not fictitious but instead it’s the very real Fermoy in County Cork which is a welcome touch. Like much of 1980s smalltown Ireland it’s a claustrophobic place that drives people away but inexplicably retains a strange sort of hold on them. The latter is exemplified by Gina Moxley’s character, the tempestuous Mary Hartnett who has returned after a stint in London. The other members of their gang are languid Martin (Vincent Murphy), uptight Willy, and mousey Rosie who carries a torch for Phil.

For the France 3 show, Mosaïque, Sarah Maldoror met Assia Djebar on Sunday March 29, 1987 on the occasion of the publication of her book Ombre Sultane. She discusses the status of the traditional woman in the Arab Muslim world: "The woman is always on the move, she is never anchored. To the extent that she is always in the process of repudiation, she is in the process of leaving. With Ombre Sultana, I wanted to make the reader feel that these women from elsewhere are like her, even if the reader is Western.

Ariel Llanarte, writer and journalist forced to live abroad, decides to return to the country. He has the purpose of finding out the reason why his best friend disappeared.

Unfolding depicts the gendered space of the launderette as both a site of oppression and possible resistance. “I was interested in making a film about women’s work spaces; the launderette is a functional space, but it is also a place where women meet socially. I got to know the women, took my Bolex (a wind-up camera) and after a while I felt comfortable enough to start filming. It made me aware of the way in which documentaries can be a form of control. On the one hand, it was a straightforward documentary and, on the other, it questioned my role as maker. It took a long time to make and was extremely rigorous.” (Alia Syed)

The traditional proscenium arch plays no part in this dance video that takes place in an electronic space which extends beyond the screen's boundaries. A dynamic and colourful digital 'haze' reveals glimpses of the movements and contours of abstracted dancing figures. The music, which has been specially composed for Cantus Firmus, consists of fragments of existing 'classical' ballet music that relates to various of the dancers' movements. This work surpasses the traditional recording of dance because the medium of video functions as an active part of Cantus Firmus and has been integrated into its presentation.

On 27 February 1987, residents of Shui Yuan Village barricaded the front gate of LCY Chemical Corp factory, who was polluting the groundwater. On the 100th day of their protest, Hsinchu Mayor promised to have police stationed there. But the factory tried to secretly ship out their product. Pushed to the limit, the villagers built a wall with concrete and vowed never to be fooled again.

Even the monitor is eroticized in this film/video hybrid that points fun at romance, sexuality, and love in our post-industrial age. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2017.
