Old man Repovz recalls experiences of the WWII in an entertaining, comic way rather than tragic. A man breaks his arm to avoid being drafted; the other man shoots fire to scare enemy soldiers; love stories, as well as troubles with forced collectivization took place there. A partisan hero finds out that he lost her fiancee, but somewhat cheers up when his white horse comes back to him...

Nazim, a visionary and a dreamer, accidentally finds himself in a cave, where he meets an old woman who has seven sons. Nazim lied to them that he was an excellent student at school and they decided to check him out. And no matter what the boy did, no matter what he said, the "magic lantern" pointed out all his lies…

In February 1965, Seyed Ali Andarzgou along with several others waited in front of the parliament building to assassinate Hasan Ali Mansour. The assassination is carried out successfully, but the officers arrest and execute all the perpetrators of the assassination except Seyed Ali Andarzgou after a lot of investigation. SAVAK agents are looking for Andarzgou because they consider him to be one of the main designers of the assassination, but Seyed Ali Andarzgou continues to fight in disguise and reaches the border of arrest several times, but he is saved and every time he is forced to go with The family moves to another city or village. For the last time, SAVAK agents besieged his place of residence and Seyed Ali Andarzgou was martyred after a severe armed conflict.

Rostam, Roslan dan Rosdin are fired from their jobs for being too preoccupied with music. They fall in love with Salina, Sarina and Safina respectively. The three girls do not reciprocate and try everything possible to ward off their advances. But Rostam and his friends are adamant and finally the girls give in and agree to marry them subject to certain conditions. However, none of the conditions are fulfilled and all three marriages go on the rocks.

Several pieces of Frank Zappa's music are set against clay animation by Bruce Bickford.

Back in 1987, CGI was still relatively new. Pixar had only produced three shorts by that time and they tended to be extremely simple. And, such projects took years and were still created using massive mainframe computers--as PCs were not fast enough or complex enough to do this sort of work. And, most importantly, rendering software had to be created by anyone wanting to do such work. It was a very primitive time for the most primitive sort of CGI, this short film is an animation that was used to demonstrate the new physics of the polygon animation.

Filmed on location at some of the extraordinary theaters across the country, the program explores the diverse and priceless architecture of such greats as the Atlanta Fox, the Wiltern in Los Angeles, San Antonio's Majestic, Seattle's Fifth Avenue and, perhaps the most famous, Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Also included are stills and vintage clips of classic movies and newsreels of the era that illustrate the historical evolution and mass appeal of the movie palaces. It's a portrait of my friend Renate, who was born in Berlin and spent her early childhood playing in the rubble after WW2. She tells stories and recites entries from her diary in both English and German, evoking history, trauma and lost loves. Shot in long verite-like takes, in Super 8 sound, with several color hand processed scenes.

A repentant gambler, Simon is a senior inspector in the banditry repression brigade headed by his friend Pierre Tramoni. Pierre is brilliant and wants to go far. Simon has no ambition and only one passion: gambling. For several months, Simon has been trying to catch the Djian brothers, young and dangerous bank robbers, in the act. He fails but discovers, through an informer, strange links between Pierre and the Djians, during his investigation which leads him back to the gambling halls. When the Djians finally fall, the treachery of Commissioner Tramoni is revealed.

During WWII, one of the villages in Guria is once revived by the noise of gypsies camped nearby.

After more than thirty years of marriage, Martha Rimböck takes stock. She reckons up what her husband has done wrong during this time. Using an ingenious points system, she has noted every one of his transgressions in their life together, but has not left herself out either. Now she sees the time has come to settle their unequal accounts: she poisons him.

From pond to plate, we are shown the journey and destiny of one carp among many. This particular carp will be eaten stuffed during a family meal. Carp stuffed (in the Polish fashion), also called in yiddish (Gefilte Fish) is a traditional dish eaten by Ashkenazi Jews. It is cooked, sweetened and served as a cold dish at the start of the meal. The head is reserved for the head of the family. The film, set in Brussels, on the day of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), aims to show the culinary preparation together with the accompanying prayers and ritual. It focuses particularly on the sacrifice of the fish and on the issue of mass extermination.

A man makes soup with mayonnaise and dolls. McCarthy: "I was given access to a community television studio for two days of shooting and one day of editing. I had been given the grant based on a proposal to do a video tape on child abuse. I taped for one day alone and one day with Mike Kelley. I asked Mike Kelley to be the son and I would be the father. There was no written script. After taping for two days, I edited the tapes, making two separate tapes: Family Tyranny and Cultural Soup. They are often shown together."

Ajay Shankar Sharma and his mom, Shivani, live a poor lifestyle until one day when Shankar's maternal uncle, Deviprasad, comes to visit them and bequeaths a large estate and wealth for their well-being, on the condition that they improve their home-town Sundergarh, the responsibility of which lies on Deviprasad's son, Sarjuprasad.

At the trains station she meets a would-be cinematographer who is color blind. They become friends sharing their dreams of going to Hollywood. One day she finds a goldfish trapped in a beer bottle: she sets her free and makes three wishes, not for herself but for her friends. To her surprise all of them come true. Ghost pictures from the "other" world, which is this world. The ghost is in love, at work, at play with bright companions. Flutter of phantoms, trick of light, sleight of the eye. A comedy of mirrors. Love advice from the grave... remember you must die.

The comedy satirizes the hot topics of the day, the economy, the problem of the church, decentralization, cultural culture, etc.

Candy commercial. With lyrics like, "chewy, delicious, bigger than your finger," or was it "bigger than you figure"? Anyway, I designed and directed this commercial right after Ruthless People. A number of very talented animators working at Playhouse Pictures did the animation. The product never took off-- it was like chewing gum, but you swallowed it.

In a small, coastal colonial town, a clawed vampire rises from the ground near an old cemetery. He immediately attack couple. The bodies are found and then taken to a coroner's office, where the doctor does a thorough examination, not only discovering the girl has been completely drained dry but also that there are puncture wounds and traces of human saliva on her neck. He takes his findings to his police inspector friend. After another girl is attacked and killed in the same manner, the two men ponder whether the killer is a psycho who only fancies himself a vampire. Even more bloodless corpses turning up all over town and a funeral home reporting a coffin being stolen fail to convince them one way or another.

The film was created to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the October Revolution and tells about the main events of each decade.

In Adieu bipède (1987), Hébert turned to performance, using the scratching technique for the scenes with dancing and music. He used the same technique in La Lettre d'amour (1988).
