A short sci-fi youth project film.

About men whose lives and work are motorcycles, racing to the brink of risk. We watch them on the circuit, in a pit box and in workshops together with teammates and mechanics preparing their competition bikes.

"Ranch" is about The Alan Wood Ranch Project, a massive environmental art piece built on 320 acres in the foothills of the Rockies. Combining time-lapse photography, old Hollywood Westerns, television news and aerial photography, "Ranch" offers the viewer a refreshing new appreciation of the work. A film of breathtaking beauty and a document of surprising humour, "Ranch" is part experimental cinema, part documentary.

Saint Moses was a bought slave of a wealthy landowner. He had a tough and awkward character and created a lot of problems every day, until his boss got angry and threw him on the street. Moses found refuge in a banditry and with his enormous physical strength it was not long before he was forced to become its leader. Once, chased by the authorities, for his many crimes, he went to hide deep in the desert where the most famous ascetics lived. His fellowship with the saints slowly made him date. He was overshadowed by the Grace of God, because repentance is a time of Grace, his heart softened, he truly repented and asked for redemption. His change was radical and in a short time he reached the measures of the great Fathers of the desert.

In post-war Saigon, the son of a prominent police officer befriends a young woman he met in a vehicle accident. But beneath his new girlfriend's irresistible charm and striking beauty lies a menacing secret.

Mexican feature film

Because of personal reasons, California police agent George Camarena requests and is given permission to take on a drug lord and his men in Mexico. Despite marital problems and the worries of his aged mother, he departs for Mexico knowing full well the enormous difficulties that lay ahead. Working among killers to get clues, he winds up with few answers after gun battles to the death. The only good card he holds may be his connection with a woman in the gang, Alejandra.

Comedy about a clumsy female intern conducting her first survey about smoking and smokers. Both flattered and impressed, she meets a few major artistic figures such as Serge Gainsbourg or Bernard Lavilliers. But the film is also about the cigarettes which helped to make Humphrey Bogart, James Dean - and several others - immortal myths. And about the cigarettes and cigars of ordinary people which fill restaurants and other public places with their heavy smoke.

This documentary offers a brief look into the extraordinary life of Emily Hobhouse (9 April 1860 – 8 June 1926) – a British welfare campaigner – whom singlehandedly took on the British establishment during the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) over its treatment of Boer woman and children in British concentration camps.

A sequence of shots from a fourteenth floor flat in the City of London, starting with a building shattered by the IRA, focusing on a crane and its driver, roadworks, a building site, passing seasons. The last minutes of the film pass into abstraction accompanied by sounds which could be fireworks or gunfire. Footage dates from the 1980s up to 2015. Soundtrack composed by Daniel R. Wilson in 2018.

Zsuzsa, Zoltán and Peter have been inseparable friends since childhood. But now they have reached the age where friendship is sometimes replaced by love. A very pretty new girl arrives in their class, and one after another she "screws" the boys. So do Peter and Zoltan. By the time they realise that she is in fact a rather empty-headed girl, the old friendship is over.

Bachelors Pekka Puupää and Pätkä are going to a dance. There they meet Justiina Pönttö. Pekka and Justiina hit it off and get married as soon as possible.

Definitely not for the squeamish, as we research everything from Enema Bandits to Bye Bye Birdie.

Hands / flicker / morphing animation suggests sexual organs in a frantic dance.

A little silent film from 1985, shot on Super8 and blown up to 16mm/reworked on the optical printer at the LFMC. The film comments on its time through its imagery, and at least to its maker still contains some of the feeling of that time.

This film utilizes a telephone answering machine as the basic structure. During the past year I kept all the messages recorded on this machine, and then asked many of my friends for permission to shoot a ten second filmic portrait of them, with the messages used as a soundtrack. The resulting work is this piece which becomes a statement of the modern society and our technology at work.

During the Vietnam War, the main threat to the strike packages was the V-750 (S-75) Dvina, the first effective Soviet surface-to-air missile (SAM). Better known by the NATO designation SA-2 Guideline To suppress and destroy this threat, the U.S. Air Force countered with the courage and skill of the Wild Weasels, who not only flew some of the most dangerous missions in Southeast Asia but also became pioneers in Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) operations. This documentary tells the story of the Wild Weasel program.

A hand-scratched film on light, dark, insects and cinema.

These are six loosely-related anime/live-action music videos from the band Hi-Fi Set. For the most part, they form a story about the love life of two cute dragons who live in a high-tech future city.

A short film about a single tree in the forest which has been cut and used as wood.

Short documentary on how television and advertising construct the image of modern Indian women.

One Woman Waiting evokes questions of subjectivity in the mirrored performance of two women. The single take, tableau composition forms the structure for catalytic change between the characters. The sensuous desert environment accentuates the poetic and ephemeral quality of this film.

Margaret Thatcher gives the audience a lecture whilst being wooed by a miner in Bob Godfrey's remake of his classic earlier cartoon Polygamous Polonius.

In 1969, Fernando Gabeira was among terrorists who kidnapped Charles Burke Elbrick, then the U.S. Ambassador to Brazil. Eventually Gabeira was captured and tortured before being exiled from his homeland for eight years. He talks candidly about his experiences in captivity as well as the abduction and the motivation behind choosing Elbrick.

Gibraltar as a real place – and an imagined geography and history. In the first part, the camera travels around West Berlin picking out touristic monuments and describing them in terms of their significance to military history… In the second half (in which the commentary also charts the escalation of land frontier sea and air restrictions), a ferry leaves a quayside and sails into the open Strait. It is an image of freedom but also a melancholy image of parting.

A home training course in life saving techniques.

Visual gags, humour, sound effects, live action and cut-out and embroidery animation combine to make this an enchanting parable of good will and understanding. A group of children finds a magic quilt that is their passport to a voyage of discovery. They step inside the quilt and as they travel through its velvet farmlands and satin cities, they experience the multiculturalism of Canada. The quilt is torn and the magic broken when a quarrel breaks out. Once the quilt is repaired and harmony restored, the children have learned that patience and goodwill are needed to mend and maintain quilts, friendships, and nations.

The film has elements of documentary, narrative and avant-garde. In a big house a party is taking place. People arrive and greet each other-encounters, some dancing, flirtations, a moment of drama. The camera is looking while slowly approaching the lit windows as if someone wanting to take part.

A sequence showing the killing and subsequent skinning of a rabbit is followed by a reclining nude and the symbolic image of a woman devouring a sausage.

Compiles scenes from medical films; observations of street life; scenes of protest in San Francisco, in the aftermath of Harvey Milk's assassination; and images from mass media (break dancing, rocket launches, Reagan at the start of his second term), all with the characteristic skip of the television set's signal.

Domestic service has long been branded as demeaning work: it involves long hours, menial toil and low pay. Historically, and not coincidentally, it has been one of the only occupations open to African American women in this country. As African American women have begun to move away from domestic labor into other jobs, white-owned entrepreneurial maid services employing primarily white women have arisen. This intriguing and articulate documentary looks at the history of domestic work since slavery and the ambivalence felt by African American women towards it. Offering a sophisticated analysis of the racial and sexual division of labor in this country, THE MAIDS! is an excellent resource for women's, African American and labor studies.

This film portraits the artist and model-builder Hermann Gloeckner, who was born in Dresden in 1889. Even at the age of 96 he is still drawing with undiminished creative energy.

About a cheerful autumn holiday in a Moldavian village.

Frenetic and impressionistic, this nocturnal foray through San Francisco's streets (heightened by a stop at a nightclub) delivers a thrill-hit of ebullient adrenaline. The rush of excitement, of anonymity, of adventure, of being alive, of potentially meeting someone new is palpable. Somewhere in the middle of this burst of gorgeous black-and-white, the neon takes on a life of its own, squiggling into infinity. "This is about living fast and dying peacefully," the filmmaker said at the time, which adds another layer of poignancy. - Michael Fox

Amy and Audrey King are desperate to find jobs, so they apply for work at their local supermarket. They are fortunate enough to end up on a shortlist of five and receive invitations to attend an interview 10:30pm at night. They arrive at the store to meet two of the other interviewees and the manager, Anthony Parker, who locks the door on the late arrival and takes the four to the staffroom, inviting them down individually for their interviews. Then murder and mayhem begins as the applicants are stalked through the darkened supermarket warehouse by a masked murderer.

A meditation on landscape and desire, the film juxtaposes arid terrain, wild grasses, and herds of goats with the naked figure of a torso in shifting light. Shepherd’s calls, flute phrases, and the rhythm of bells echo Beavers’ quick, side-to-side camera movements, building to a vibrant visual and sonic ostinato.

Details the migration of Puerto Ricans to Hawaii in the early 1900's and examines the cultural legacy passed on to the present generation of Puerto Rican Hawaiians.

After the owner of a toy factory is hospitalized, his business partners liquidate the company and run away with the money. In an effort to help, his wife invests their remaining money, only to fall victim to a fraud which leaves them penniless.
