Adventure film based on S. Zhubatyrov's story "Distant Islands" tells about the journey of children to one of the uninhabited islands of the Aral Sea. They want to find traces of the ancient city here. The difficulties experienced during the dangerous journey rallied the guys, they were able to check the value of strong friendship.

The film follows the stories of men and women who work with steel drums in various capacities, including a steel drum tuner, university and primary school students performing on steel drums, as well as two steel drum orchestras.

This documentary shows the social organization in Tuzamapan de Galeana, Puebla, an indigenous community, mostly Totonaca. Describes some economic activities that include: planting beans, sugar cane, corn, coffee, and the work of ranchers and bakers, among others. It is also emphasized how these works are taught from generation to generation.

Forcing himself to confront his own 16mm camera each day for over two weeks, Suzuki Shiroyasu initially seems to regret his own idea and indulges in very recalcitrant behaviour. Not until halfway through the project does he address the camera more candidly and start to question his own identity, as well as his relationships with his own milieu and other social structures.

Two friends, Laurent and Louis, play the lottery together. Louis lives with his sister Liliane who, very possessive, does not accept his complicity with Laurent. To escape him, Louis proposes to a stranger, Marie.

The Cologne Edelweiss Pirates were one of those proletarian resistance groups against the Nazi regime that are easily forgotten to this day. They were adolescent urban Indians who threw sand in the gears, who sang forbidden songs like: ...what can Hitler's life give us, we want to be Bundish, we want to be free of Hitler. At night, they added Nazi slogans such as "Wheels roll for victory" with "Nazi heads roll after the war! They derailed a supply train for the front and stole food for Russian foreign workers. On November 10, 1944, thirteen of them were publicly hanged in Hüttenstraße in Cologne-Ehrenfeld without a court verdict. The youngest was 16 years old. In the Federal Republic of Germany, the Edelweiss Pirates were not recognized as resistance fighters for decades, but defamed as criminals. The film was the contribution of all those involved in the film to the rehabilitation of the thirteen murdered people from Hüttenstraße.

Without any commentary, the film respects the daily pace of the villagers.

My intention was to explore the landscape where I spent my early life, and to some extent the people who helped me to inhabit it. So I started by flying over this landscape and was filmed while doing so. My new view of a place with which I am very familiar is an important aspect of the film.

This documentary traces the history of the fiddle’s arrival in Canada 300 years ago via Scottish traders from Orkney Island. The Cree population of what is now Northern Québec adopted the instrument, and many contemporary Cree residents are master fiddlers. In this film, two Cree fiddlers travel to the Orkney Islands, the birthplace of the music they learned from their fathers and grandfathers. The film captures the warmth and good will of this reunion.

Estuary was made during the three weeks between December 17th 1979 and January 6th 1980. The film was shot from a small cabin boat moored near the mouth of the Keyhaven river. This is a place known to me since my childhood and the location for several paintings, films and photographic pieces. The camera was fixed relative to the motion of the boat as it responded to the action of wind and tide. This resulted in an intermittent scanning of 360 degrees about the central axis provided by the mooring, and a periodic vertical motion of about eight feet due to the rise and fall of the tide. A four second section of the film was exposed every fifteen minutes between dawn and dusk.

In claymation, the Ontario Censor Board meets to consider an animated short, which begins simply enough, but soon scandalizes the Board with the sexual activities of its two characters: a man and woman meet on a street corner, go to a bedroom, and soon are swinging on a chandelier. A dog joins them somehow, although by now, we see only the Board and its shocked response. The film finished, they must determine their rating: out come darts and a dart board. What rating will the film receive? Will the morals of the people of Ontario be protected?

Set among the Turkana pastoralists of northwestern Kenya, the film chronicles the marriage negotiations between Lorang’s daughter Akai and Kongu, a friend and age-mate of her father. Much of the film focuses on extended discussions over the bridewealth—goats and camels to be given to the bride’s family—which draw in relatives from both sides and grow increasingly tense. Filmed in an observational style without narration, the documentary records the negotiations and social dynamics that shape the marriage arrangement.

A squad of young Cuban armed forces recruits are tasked with defending a strategic key north of Cuba. The fraught relationships between the young soldiers and the sergeant who leads them transform as they discover his human qualities during training and learn discipline in the harsh conditions of their post.
