Marta Minujín’s work is defined by its ephemeral nature—actions living in the present, performances destined to disappear due to the absence of documentation. During her stay in New York, she added cinema to her art practice, and upon returning to Buenos Aires, she shot a number of short films. In Autogeografía, she puts her own body in front of the camera, articulating recording and representation in an early video-performance work. Derived from her action Comunicando con tierra (where she extracted soil from the Machu Picchu which she later exchanged with other Latin American Artists), a purification ritual takes place—Minujín covers herself up in “barbarity,” soil and grains that anonymous hands throw at her from out of field. A territory for exploration where the absurd embraces the real—“The only thing that is true is what we invent.”
Orpheus' song tames scales and dolphins, dictates laws to the wind and sets the rhythm of the oars that move the sea. Those who listen to it remain motionless in contemplation. Between bodies, the Patagonian landscape and the crossing of boundaries with the private record of a vacation, Narcisa Hirsch and Rafael Maino unfold among the melodies of a passage from Orphee et Eurydice. This film also bears the name "Rafael, 1976" and can be considered part of the series of the diaries with "Rafael, agosto 1984".

As part of my artistic research, dating back to the years from 1975 to 1978, among the objectives I felt the need to give expressive autonomy to the film medium, understood no longer as a mere reproduction of a performance, a happening or a workshop . Looking, not as a director, but as a visual artist, to a certain underground and independent Cinema, this is the first of his films (in 8mm color film) by direct editing on the camera, with internal and external shots, entirely superimposed.
I made this film in the course of a single day using a borrowed sync. set-up. Color and sequence of event has been preserved. My concerns in the film were to photograph and record events that were anticipated, but accidental, within the confines of a format that would provide a context of determined artificiality. In this case taking place means changing places, a complete and mutual transformation, as is seen in the eternal contrast between bios and thanatos. In the video changing places becomes a moment of identification, favored by the ambiguity of a date, 1949 which is the only element two people have in common, since one of them died and the other was born in that year.
The early years of the sculptor's life and work. Vasyl Borodai is a People's Artist of Ukraine, a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts, and a veteran. He came to the art institute after the war, and took up military themes only 10 years later - his memories were too painful. He is the author of monuments to fallen partisans and soldiers, a series of graphic and sculptural works "Across Egypt," portraits of prominent people of Ukraine, and a monument to legendary heroes, the founders of Kyiv. The fate of the work of sculptor Vasyl Borodai is interesting from the point of view of continuing the Soviet tradition of bans. His monument to the October Revolution on Independence Square was one of the first monuments demolished in Ukraine since Ukrainian independence. His other works, such as the monument to the Chekists and Motherland, are still the subject of controversy as monuments to the Soviet past.
