Made for German television, the "script" of this semi-documentary account of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's life consists of the actual letters written to and by composer, while performers act out the events onscreen. The film covers Mozart's creative output from ages seven to 20. Compositions written after the film's time frame are also heard on the omnipresent soundtrack. As a bonus to music purists, the original orchestrations -- and original instruments -- are utilized.

A compelling investigation aimed at restoring the legacy of a fundamental yet often overlooked figure: Alice Guy, the first female director in history. Utilizing rare archival materials and staged scenes depicting moments from her life, the film traces the career of this pioneer who played a key role in the transition of cinema into a narrative medium. The work goes beyond celebrating her technical milestones —such as her early experiments with sound or the founding of an independent production company in the United States— to offer a sharp critique of the historical silence and erasure imposed on her work by scholars and film archives. Ultimately, the documentary serves as a necessary act of rediscovery to uncover the deep roots of female creativity in the cinematic world and challenges the traditional narratives that have long excluded women as active creative forces

Trace is an impressional story about the artistic practice of Alina Szapocznikow, recorded three years after the artist’s untimely death. Film director Helena Włodarczyk took the artist's sculptures hailing from various stages of her work to a metropolitan avenue. Even in highly urbanised surroundings, the works by Szapocznikow still seem imbued with the physical. An important role is played by formal experiments of the artist (e.g. sculptures of polyester). “I like to work with materials in which every touch leaves a trace. This physical contact with the matter gives me the sense of handing myself over to the sculpture”, as Szapocznikow explained. The title of the film refers to that very statement.
