Orhan vehemently rejects this offer, but this time, the ugly proposal is made to Fatma, who is now a mother.

Werther was one of the last feature films that Jean-Pierre Lajournade made for television. The Lajournade's version of Werther makes a critical rereading of Goethe's work through a challenge to bourgeois society.

Johan van der Keuken explains, "Some fifteen filmmakers were asked to make a film series in a relay style for a very popular variety program on Dutch television: each new program was to start from the last image of the previous program, developing the story from that image. It was necessary to work according to codes of the crime thriller. I 'sabotaged' these codes, following a close-up of a pistol, inherited from my predecessor, by a series of comic observations of my cat, accompanied by a text on the need to innovate methods of expression and communication in cinema."

On October 8th, 1968, Ray Charles, the Raelettes and accompanying musicians performed a televised concert at the Salle Playel, in Paris. The performance was outstanding and included a couple hits as well as lesser known gems, such as The Sun Died, I Believe to My Soul, I've Had My Fun (Going Down Slow) and A Tear Fell.

She rejects all suitors and bravely earns her living as an innkeeper. The shoemaker returns in disguise after some time. When he is convinced that his wife has been faithful to him, he makes himself known to her and hopes that she will welcome him with open arms. But he is bitterly disappointed; the dream has vanished, the mistress has realised the difference between her fantasies and reality, so that their life once again returns to its old ways.
