Saturday evening. We have a date with friends and Pierrot has finally obtained his mother's slightly worried authorization. He runs down the indefinite staircase of the immaculate H.L.M., planted firmly in the mud of the suburbs, to meet up with the others. The others are older than him on the whole, but what they have in common is the desire for something to change, this weekend, and for things to get moving. This is especially true for those with scooters who, in close ranks, can scare pedestrians, hug cars and taunt the marshals. Pierrot will be taken in rump like the girls, Thérèse behind Jacquy, Monette behind Christian.

The Heroic Lovers from the Tomb was a martial arts movie produced by Hsin Hwa Motion Picture Company in Hong Kong and shot in Taiwan. It tells the story of a gang and two teams of warriors seeking revenge for the murder of their parents. In comparison with The Return of the Condor Heroes written by Jin Yong and published in 1959, it is easy to see the influence of the novel on the film, including the similarities that the disciples are asked to be abstinent, the romance between the hero and the heroine and the Blade-Dance of the Two Lovers.

“From the window of my bedroom I noticed a little shad-blow tree… I photographed it on 35-mm color film in every season and at all hours of the day… [Pare] Lorentz, like the great documentary film-man he is, immediately suggested that I transfer these pictures onto movie film and let one dissolve into the other. This struck me as a good idea. But then I thought, why turn these still pictures into a film? Why not start the series over again as a motion picture and take advantage of the wind and the rain and the movements of the water?” (Edward Steichen)

Only at a crisis do I see both the scene as I've been trained to see it ( that is, with Renaissance perspective, three-dimensional logic–colors as we've been trained to call a color a color, as so forth) and patterns that move straight out from the inside of the mind through the optic nerves... spots before my eyes, so to speak... and it's very intensive, disturbing, but joyful experience. I've seen that every time a child was born... Now none of that was in WINDOW WATER BABY MOVING; and I wanted a childbirth film which expressed all of my seeing at such a time.

Humit, the kibbutz Dachshund dog, travels to Tel Aviv to see the animals in the zoo. She sees the animals in small cages, unlike the kibbutz monkey, who roams freely and plays with the children, or the pair of porcupines that the children feed with milk from a bowl, and the deer that was adopted and became the friend of the kibbutz’s lamb. There are also turtles, cats, chamalions, and a giant peacock moth in Humit’s kibbutz “zoo,” all of them free to go wherever they like, except for the golden hamster. Bedouins arrived with their herds in the area next to the kibbutz, and the kibbutz children went to watch a camel calf being born.

Peasants working in the fields look up, and so do various animals along the track. The train makes a short stop to be refilled with water. The engaging and sentimental tale begins when the little boy (Ricardo Ancona) starts manifesting a greater and greater talent at music and at the same time, a supersensitivity to sounds. His overly astute hearing drives him into the woods and away from the cacophony of the town's hustle and bustle. Once in the woods, he meets a kindly old hermit who teaches him how to play the violin he made. After the old man dies, the violin ends up at a pawn shop, and each night the boy sneaks in to play it in secret. It is this haunting, nightly music that sets the town on edge -- people think an evil spirit is on the loose.
