Bob Jackson wakes up with his pants hanging low. E.Z. Webster enters the apartment and Bob tells him that he can only afford to spend $5.00 but Webster insists on $7.50. E.Z. gets into a posing strap and is oiled up by Bob. Bob is wearing low slung briefs. E.Z. poses and Bob draws. When it comes time to pay Bob gets the money from the crotch of his briefs but it is not the full amount expected. Wrestling ensues. E.Z. showers to clean up and comes back to Bob to pull off his towel and poses nude. An undressing scene shown in reverse is used to get E.Z. dressed again. At the door, the two agree to meet again the next day. Flashes to suggestive nude pictures accompany scenes of the two men in similar poses.

Bollywood 1956

An Italian film from 1956, directed by Silvio Siano.

Little Black Sambo was screened at the first Vancouver International Film Festival in 1958, and won the Best Film award in the Films for Children section.

The voice-over leaves little to the imagination: the aim of the film is to expose the wretched living conditions in the Marolles. In this run-down working-class area in the shadow of the Law Courts, children and adults live on different planets. For the children the street, a courtyard or wasteland are a playground. A site where social housing is to be built is an ideal spot on which to build a camp. While the women do the housework and the men go to work or linger in a bar, the children meet up at their secret location. The accompanying voice-over points out the typical character of the working-class area. Many of the images from this film are also to be found in the full-length film Jean Harlez made about this city neighbourhood (Le chantier des gosses, The kids' building site 1956).

The President of Poland, the President of the Council of Ministers of the Polish People's Republic, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party, was a guest of the earth-shattering 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, at which Khrushchev delivered a secret speech on the crimes of Stalinism. Obviously, the film does not mention that because in our country Bierut's death began the thaw period. An honor guard was set next to the coffin in Moscow. The funeral was attended by PUWP delegates, marshals of the USSR, family and workers. The last journey led through Moscow to the airport, where the Bulgarian Prime Minister gave his farewell speech. The funeral march created by Fryderyk Chopin accompanies the images in the production.
