A training film to help soldiers.

Mercy, the Mummy Mumbled pokes fun at both mad scientists and the Egyptian mummy craze that followed the discovery of King Tut's tomb early in the 20th century. A young man wooing the daughter of a scientist hatches a get rich quick scheme when he spots a classified ad searching for "a mummy for experimental purposes." While he wraps up a phony for the scientist, two Egyptian agents (outfitted in a crazy mix of ancient fashion and modern style) tracking stolen relics get tangled in the confusion.

Miner Will Morrison marries heiress Grace Norwood. Jealous Richard Myers tries to convince Will that Grace is unfaithful and when that fails he drugs Will and frames him for murder.

The Kinonedelja (Kino-Week) newsreels represent Dziga Vertov's first contribution to cinema.

The film depicted the revolutionary events of 1917 and included some documentary footage. The film has not survived.

German horror movie from 1918.

Young Polar Explorer brings Eskimo Ivigtut to his parents in Berlin. After experiencing Western culture, she finds herself pregnant but the explorer comes to her rescue.

Country girl Jean sets out to see the world. She arrives in Adelaide, runs into villainous Ashbourne, and wins a car in a competition conducted by the Trench Comfort Fund. She meets a socialite called Mrs de Tafford, who misses her long-lost daughter. Mrs de Tafford adopts Jean and promotes her in society.

Country girl Anne Maxwell is receiving lessons from choir master Karl Krona, who is secretly a German sympathiser.

South African Film set at Howick Falls

Reportage about the commotion at the Dutch Eijsden train station after the arrival of Emperor Wilhelm II. This film must have been made on November 10, 1918, the day that the German Emperor Wilhelm II came to the Netherlands after he was deposed by the army.

Three sisters live with their aunt, the mistress of Junkershus, and are very annoyed at their sanctimonious and tiresome cousin Jonas, who sometimes carouse down in the town, sometimes crawls the most repulsively before the rich old lady. The most beautiful of the sisters, Madelaine, writes to their favorite cousin Curt Junker, and asks him to come and reveal Jonas's hypocrisy, which their aunt in her credulity seems to be blind to.

New England codfish-packer Silas Kidder wants his son to succeed him in the business, but because young Cuthbert seems interested only in playing pool, his father turns him out. In Chicago, Cuthbert beats a gang of pool sharks at their own game, and in anger they steal all his money and knock him out cold. He is picked up by tin-can magnate James Knight and his pretty daughter Julie, who invite him to recuperate at their estate.

1918 travelogue.

Queen Mary, King George in the uniform of an Admiral of the Fleet, members of the Royal family, a clergyman, and other unidentified people are walking in procession into St. Margaret's Church, Westminster. The occasion is probably "Remembrance Day," Aug. 4, 1918, the fourth anniversary of World War I. The Royal family, joined by the two Houses of Parliament and representatives of the overseas dominions and of the U.S., attend a special service of remembrance and rededication. Queen Alexandra and the Duke of Connaught follow Queen Mary and King George; Princess Mary, wearing a white collar, and Princess Victoria follow. In the second sequence, the Royal party leaves the church followed by members of Parliament. Final sequence consists of brief shots of colonial troops with a British officer.

The film shows the fast and efficient production process at the Rijks Munt in Utrecht, with footage of melting, casting, punching, rolling, and minting coins.

The hero, a stranger in a Western town, falls in love with an Innocent girl he discovers in a wine room. He wins her after several clashes with the villain, who also loves her.

August 1914: wife and mother, woman's first sacrifice is to see her beloved depart for the front. In a city, she works in railway stations,as a waitress or even as a chimney sweep. At the factory, she only interrupts her work to feed her baby. At the country she does the plowing or picks olives. But above all a wife, she brings the soldier "fraternity and tenderness", parcels, love notes and care. She brings flowers to the dead's tombs, and remains ever present in the soldier's heart.

The mountain’s explosive [is] front and center in A Trip through the Lassen Volcanic National Park. The centerpiece of this short film is footage of Lassen in action, as novel now as it was at the time of its release in 1918. With these images, cinematographer J. J. Hammer of Red Bluff, California, created what one expert determined “might be the second oldest existing film of an erupting volcano” as well as “one of the first in a long line of volcanic films that capture the majesty and awe-inspiring views of an eruption.” [...] By the early 1920s Lassen was completely at rest. Today, Hammer’s film, along with the still photographs captured by Loomis and others, constitute a remarkable and thrilling visual record of an earth-shattering event, both for park lovers and film aficionados.

A Jaxson comedy.

During World War I, Arthur Morgan, an inventor from the South who has perfected a revolutionary airplane engine, needs money to complete his work because his family fortune was lost during the Civil War. A German spy offers to buy his invention, but Arthur refuses, after which the spy tries to capture Arthur's sweetheart and then seduce him through the wiles of the Countess Von Shoenburg. When the spy finally resolves to destroy Arthur's workshop, Rover, the family dog, carries the bomb away and drops it by the tree behind which the agent is hiding.
