Mr. and Mrs. Gladwin, a wealthy, childless couple, make the mistake of lavishing upon a dog all the affection and care which should have gone to some forlorn human being. The dog is not happy in his unnatural surroundings, and on the first opportunity, he runs away to the home of Mrs. Smith, the Gladwin's washerwoman, where he is in his element frolicking with Bobbie Smith's dog. When the Gladwins find him there, they see their error. They take Mrs. Smith and her boy home to live in their beautiful house, and the two dogs are given a kennel in the yard.

Clara was no longer a Spring Chicken, and when she passed the Thirty Mark, she began to worry for fear that she could never Rope In a Bread Earner, so she got busy. There was one chap in particular who looked awfully good to her, but the younger girls were hot on his trail, and did their utmost to keep Clara out of his way. Finally Clara got rid of her competitors in the Man Hunt when they all went to a summer resort. She was surrounded by Suitors, and Mr. Gibbs was very much in evidence. The afternoons that followed were a repetition of the first day, while the girls up at the lake were making a fuss over some little Freshman.

In respect to other FAI films, it contains quite an innovative scene, in which the loan shark is on a train, looking out the window, made with a sort of “track after” shot. The camera was fixed on the outside of the train, and when the train started going, the camera filmed the moving landscape. Much of the footage was shot in exteriors. There are numerous views of Rome, including one of Castel Sant’Angelo, while several scenes are set on the beach, probably on the coast of Lazio. The film was hailed by critics. “An exciting film: there are some beautiful scenes. The actors deserve heartfelt congratulations and praise.” (Lazzaro, “La Cine-Fono”, Naples, 4/4/1914)

The footage shows the parade at the 1914 shooting festival in Wetzlar. Among those present are participants in the '27th Wetzlar Association Shooting Competition'. The parade consists of festively decorated cars and horse-drawn carriages and wagons. The roadside is lined with spectators. Also visible are a brass band, participants in costumes, and decorated floats on which historical scenes are reenacted (knights, castles, soldiers). Women and men in 18th-century costumes and wigs sit on the float of the hairdressers' guild. Children and men ride bicycles. Another association has decorated its float as a Viking ship, and the people on it are dressed in appropriate costumes. Various groups of pedestrians and horsemen follow. At the end of the parade, more and more spectators join in. This is followed by scenes from downtown Wetzlar.
