Jeff Fulton jealous and bitter because his partner John Acton’s daughter Mary loves their neighboring claim holder, Dick Carew schemes to eliminate both men by fabricating a land dispute between them. Not satisfied with the result Fulton forges a challenge and sets up a duel in Buzzard Gulch for the men. Fulton ambushes Acton, wounding him. Carew arrives later, and after a staged exchange of gunfire with Fulton, is led to believe he has killed Acton. Fulton alerts the sheriff, leading to Carew's arrest based on circumstantial evidence. Mary uncovers the forged challenge, revealing Fulton's plot. Fulton is tricked into confessing his guilt, arrested, and sent to prison. Carew is freed, reuniting with Mary.

When Marianne arrives as well, von Stahl finds himself torn between the two women.

From that time on, Mr. Crabb changed his mind about doing good, and the next morning he cleared all the hobos out of his office. Moral: Cast your bread upon the waters and it will come back to you as sponge cake.

Drummer Jones makes his annual trip west. He stays at the Thatch Hotel, run by Louise's mother. Ike is janitor of the hotel. He and Louise are sweethearts. After the trunks are placed in the drummer's room he unpacks his samples. Louise has been watching from her room. When she sees her way clear, she hides herself in the trunk.

A young lady doctor causes all the trouble in Alkali Flats. Up to this time the town had never awakened. Then Louise arrived. There was just two hotels in town, one owned by a widow and the other by the mother of Universal Ike, Jr. Louise set out for the widow's hotel. But before she arrived her coming was heralded and every cowboy in the town

Dick Fellows is jilted by his sweetheart and is left with a beautifully furnished little apartment. He locks up the flat and moves to a hotel. Months pass and a mysterious girl in the hotel interests him. She is alone and evidently has some great sorrow. Discovering that she is unable to pay her bill, Dick is more interested than ever. One night fire sweeps the hotel. Dick risks his life to rescue her, and learns that she has been deserted by the man she came to marry. Amidst the roar of the flames their sorrows are united in a bond of common love, and they are saved from death only after a terrific struggle several stories above the street.

A newspaper reporter takes a job as the butler of a countess in order to get a story; he graduates to the position of personal representative, bodyguard, and, finally, husband.

Pathé-Journal newsreel on the assassination of Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife Sophie on the 28th of June 1914. Shown are the Franz Joseph street in Sarajevo where the assassination took place. In Triest, Austria the arrival of the battle ship "Viribus Unitis" which carried the bodies. In Berlin, Germany the funeral service at the St. Hedwig's Cathedral.

The Thames, although insignificant compared to the rivers of the continent, has its own charm that painters and poets like Turner, Bonington, Eugène Delacroix, Whistler and Seymour have tried to render on paper or on canvas. In this film no grandiose scenes, just a river of silver flowing placidly between low banks, covered with trees. Here and there we pass through delightful little towns until we get to Windsor and dock in the shade of its famous castle.

The first, and apparently only, surviving film produced by the Colorado Motion Picture Company, Pirates of the Plains is a quite well-made story about two brothers, one a champion rodeo rider, the other a horse thief.

The Three-Hundred-Year-Old Man is the reconstruction of a lost silent film made in 1914 on the basis of an album of 66 photographs kept in the Film Archive. The 50-minute silent film was made to raise money for charity: the aristocratic group initiating the making of the film exploited the popular medium of film to promote a new achievement, aviation. The screenplay was written by Sándor Bródy and Endre Nagy, its actors were young Hungarian aristocrats, many of whom later became notable personalities. Money raised from the film was to go to improve Hungarian aviation and the Polyclinic. The Three-Hundred-Year-Old Man became the first time-travel science fiction film in Hungarian film history. Unfortunately, the film itself was lost in the course of subsequent decades, but it has now been revived from still photographs...

The story of the meeting and falling in love of a man and a woman. The story is told by showing the characters from below the knees only. A man in smart shoes prepares to go out. His maid gives him his coat, he dusts off his shoes and leaves. As he leaves the building an elegant woman drops her purse. He returns it to her and follows her home.

A very strange-looking piece of animation from before the triumph of the Bray model of cartooning, this 1914 cartoon, to the modern eye, looks like quarter animation (in which only about a fourth of the movements are covered) and scratchboard work. Hesanut, the star of perhaps half a dozen cartoons from this period, is a top-hatted fellow who builds a skyscraper by placing the girders in place and then using a sort of brick cannon to put up the facade.

Jeremy Dexter, Sheriff of Sherman County, warns Lanky Mason to leave town after being involved in a shootout the night before killing a Mexican. The sheriff tells Lanky that although he remembers that Lanky had saved his little daughter's life by swimming across a stream during a flood and that Lanky's heroic work during a time when the smelter caught fire had saved the town from destruction, it was imperative for the good of the town that Lanky leave.

Mining foreman Jimson is fired by Pedro and Madro when they falsely accuse him of trying to steal ore. When they attack him, he is forced to strike back, and they swear revenge. Their enmity intensifies when Jimson rescues Nina, a Mexican girl, from Pedro's unwanted attentions.

Hard pressed for funds in his campaign for Mayor, Jim Creelman does not know where to turn, but Olga Bateman, an actress, who has fallen deeply in love with the handsome politician, offers to loan him twenty thousand dollars to insure his election, hoping that in the end he will marry her. He makes good use of the funds and his campaign is carried to a successful termination. A short time afterwards, however, he meets Miss Syble Chatfield, the fiancée of Estaban DeBussy, the editor in chief of the leading daily paper, and falls desperately in love with her.

Blake, fireman of a light engine, receives a message that his wife is dangerously ill. Benton, his engineer, allows Blake to catch an eastbound passenger train. A hunter shooting as the light engine is passing, wounds Benton who drops unconscious. The sportsman reports the accident. Helen, a telegrapher, receives word of the runaway train. Climbing into the cab of a locomotive in a siding, Helen jerks the throttle wide open. The engine rushes after the endangered express. Discovering his train is being pursued, the conductor of the Eastbound Express gives the signal to stop. Helen slows her engine down and tells of the danger. While the Eastbound locomotive goes to meet the runaway, Helen's engine draws the cars to safety. The runaway is halted in the nick of time. Helen's superb heroism results in her being showered with offers of marriage. But she enjoys her hazardous adventure too much to marry anyone yet. —Moving Picture World synopsis

The inventor experimented with different sound film methods and apparently screened the world’s first usable sound films in Berlin in 1914 and Copenhagen in 1915. Some of these synchronized sound-on-film images survive.

This "scène en plein air", produced in April 1914 by the Milanese Film, the Italian "corresponding" company of the Pathé Frères, presents a touristic excursion in Egypt, where the European visitors enjoy the cruise on the Nile river and visit the huge ruins and the temples in the desert.
