Discoveries from Peru World Cinema

Formerly named HMS Ceylon (C-30), it was a British light cruiser that had served in World War II and the Korean War. As part of the Peruvian Navy, it participated in international exercises and relief operations for the populations affected by the 1970 Ancash earthquake. The ship was decommissioned on September 20, 1982, with the name Pontón Perú (UAI-113). Months earlier, the name "Coronel Bolognesi" had been assigned to a Friesland-class destroyer acquired from the Netherlands.

In 1959, Dr. Guillermo Garrido-Lecca Frías, the newly appointed Minister of Public Health and Social Assistance, accepted ten thousand doses of the new drug Thiambutosine, or "CIBA 1906," from Antonio Esteban, representative of the Swiss laboratories CIBA, to combat the devastating effects of this disease. He also met with representatives of the patient community, promising them action to end the social segregation they had been enduring.

Travelogue was distributed by the American company Lincoln & Parker in 1928.
