A harpist (Pedro Llana) is seen positioning his harp near a waterfall. The narrator's voice says, "We knew that harpists went to the mountains to learn new melodies from the waterfalls." The harpist falls asleep, and some children climb up to steal his harp. The harpist wakes up and throws them off. A priest (Father Fausto Pusa) says that the story of harpists, mermaids, and waterfalls is pure fantasy. [He is referring to the belief that harpists receive help from mermaids in those places to tune their instruments.]

Alberto Santana's first film directed in Peru followed the deep-rooted tradition of imitating the style of Charles Chaplin's comedy. Sporting a mustache and bowler hat, the Mexican dancer and bullfighter Rodolfo Areu played the lead role. Areu, who performed variety acts with Julián Santa Cruz's Cuban revue and comedy company, offered as the central attraction of his show what appeared to be an impeccable imitation of Charlie Chaplin. The surviving accounts agree that, like Chaplin, it was a kind of unacknowledged remake of The Kid (1921), and that the liveliness of Areu's pantomime was the film's main attraction.

During the years of terrorist violence, a National Police squad undertook the perilous mission of disarming the explosives planted throughout the country by Shining Path and the MRTA. The documentary "With My Soul in Suspense" tells the human stories of the veterans who risked their lives for society, though some heroically perished in their mission. The press focused on the attacks that occurred, but not so much on those that were prevented. The documentary centers on the latter, through heroic stories recounted by the protagonists themselves, stories that will leave the viewer breathless.

Disappointed that he can't win her back, Juan gets drunk with his other musician friend. Since his mandolin is a bit out of tune, they go to the beach, following the local legend of a mermaid who would fix his instrument. They leave it on the shore and sit down to wait. The young men fall asleep, but when Juan wakes up, his friend discovers that he has gone into the sea. In the distance, he sees an intense light swallow him up, and he disappears. The next day, they recover his body. His friend cries out in despair, "She took him... the mermaid took him!"

This documentary was censored by COPROCI (the Film Promotion Commission) of Juan Velasco's government, which argued that it presented a savage view of peasants reenacting a ritual battle to maintain the fertility of the land in the Chiaraje plains (4,700 meters above sea level), in the province of Canas. The production company, without the filmmaker's permission, converted the film into a series of short films; however, a 35mm copy still exists.

Xhizito: Twisted Reflections is a work of journalistic autofiction that blends investigative depth with a fantastical veil of anonymity. At its core, Xhizito is not a character or a place—it’s a sound, a rhythm, a word charged with plastic identity and fluid meaning. Its phonetic expressiveness evokes ambiguity, twisting itself into something elusive and serpentine. But what, exactly, is Xhizito? In this first chapter of a larger enigma, we delve into the heart of a phenomenon that resists definition, seeking answers in echoes, masks, and mirrors.
