Two brothers who grew up in the countryside and fell in love with the same brothers and sisters, Yun and Tian, decided to make the biggest choice in their lives and go to the big city to break through the world together. With the efforts of the two, he became a famous figure in black and white by chance, and when he reached the highest peak, it was also the most dangerous time.

Jia Zhangke travels with painter Liu Xiaodong from China to Thailand as they as they meet everyday workers in the throes of social turmoil. Liu Xiaodong is well-known for his monumental canvases, particularly those inspired by China's Three Gorges Dam project. Jia Zhangke visits Liu on the banks of Fengjie, a city about to be swallowed up by the Yangtze River. The area is in the process of being "de-constructed" by armies of shirtless male workers who form the subject of Liu's paintings. Liu and Jia next travel to Bangkok, where Liu paints Thai sex workers languishing in brothels. The two sets of paintings are united in their subjects' shared sense of malaise in the face of the dehumanizing labor afforded them.

At the forefront of most of Hong Kong's demonstrations, 'frontliners' (aka 'the valiant', yung mo in Cantonese) are the black-clad, masked, often armed youth willing to use violence against the HK government and its heavily-armed police force. Willis Ho's remarkably revealing doc approaches from the inside, giving them voices and offering understanding, not judgment.

While Wong Fei Hung is away traveling, three ruthless villains pretend to establish a temple as a front for a range of criminal activities including kidnapping young woman to be used as sex workers. Wong’s wife is told about the goings on by a student and together they take on the gang. Eventually Wong Fei Hung returns and the operation is raided by the married couple and their students. But the villains have filled their temple with traps and secret rooms.

At first glance, Grandma Mui and Uncle Cheung look just like another ordinary elderly couple loitering outside a school wall. Grandma Mui is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and her conditions deteriorate notably after the death of her granddaughter Ka-ching from a fall off the school building, with the school officials suspected of negligence and being dishonest in their testimony.
