The video shows the artist getting married in her working studio in Finnish Academy of Fine Arts. The studio is built to resemble the official marriage room of the registration office in Helsinki where people have half an hour to get married with the presence of two witnesses. The video deals with the theatrical aspect of a wedding ceremony by using different elements like lighting, movement of the camera and the expressions of the performers – who are playing a familiar act but in an unfamiliar situation.

Radio operations in Lahti began with the founding of Lahden radioyhdistys (Lahti Radio Association) in 1925, and the following year, Oy Suomen Yleisradio (Finnish Broadcasting Company) was born. The documentary, directed by Heimo Palander for Yleisradio, examines the history of radio broadcasting focusing on the Lahti region.

Poachers are still targeting robins. Set in two countries, the story is about conservation work and love for the little birds, transcending national borders.

Eero Yli-Vakkuri’s documentary Care and Control (53 min, 2026) follows the lives of police horses between 2016 and 2021. The observational documentary explores how police horses are desensitized to frightening stimuli and how they are used to de-escalate conflicts between people. Animal-assisted law enforcement is a widely criticized aspect of frontline police work. Footage of the mounted police’s daily life has been filmed in various parts of Helsinki, for example outside of Lou on Vaasankatu and elsewhere in the Harju district. The documentary film is the final part of Yli-Vakkuri’s Trans-Horse project, which began in 2014 and examines contemporary horse culture.

In the summer of 1956, Kurkvaara filmed a new frame story for the beginning of the film in Lahti and rebuilt the ending of the film. The new scenes in the film are set in a hospital environment.

M is a work of art that explores the relationship between sexuality and death. These two appear to be at opposite poles, but in fact they merge in all of us, disguising the fear of death or the desire to die, the world of Eros. In M the character of Marilyn Monroe should be seen as a symbol of this interpenetration. The actress´s death is as famous as her sexuality and thus sets a perfect example of how the ancient bond between sex and death is being forever mystified and exploited by the popular culture. M attempts to explore this phenomenon in a much more personal level.
