The year is 1658 and the King of Sweden has seized large parts of Denmark. A tenant farmer and his family on Falster are forced to look on while enemy soldiers loot and wreck their home. Only the wounded and febrile soldier Lasse Månsson does not take part in the atrocities, and when the regiment moves on, he stays in the care of the farmer. Business partners Storch and Søndergaard are in for a very confusing day. The birthday child Storch reminds Søndergaard that it is his wedding day, which prompts Søndergaard to immediately send flowers home to his wife. A work of fiction, the film is developed from the life of – and starring – a real woman, Pia, who is intellectually disabled. Pia is 60 years old and she lives in rural Denmark in the care of her mother Guittou, 84. In the story, Guittou is getting old, and Pia worries about what will happen when her mother dies. She is afraid of being left alone. Although Pia has never had a boyfriend, she thinks that she needs to find a man to love in order to survive. Then Pia meets a man called Jens at the harbour. Pia embarks on a quiet and simple relationship with him, not realising that in the meantime it is her mother who is left alone.

Every performance tells a story. The characters belonging to the world of fiction become credible reality for the spectator thanks to the actor's technique. In Traces in the Snow the technique itself becomes the protagonist. The actor carries on a dialogue with the secrets, which precede and follow the building of a character and the creation of a performance – and its process, she exposes these secrets. The tension, which characterises every drama, is also present in this performance/work demonstration, due to the confrontation between the actor’s two forms of behaviour: daily and scenic.

he laws governing old age pensions in Denmark have recently been consolidated, and the rates of pensions improved. The film opens with visits to typical old age pensioners living independently. We pay a visit to a typical block of low-rent flats, built specially for old people who can care for themselves. Special places are provided for those who can no longer live alone without attention. We see the famous De Gamles By, which has been criticised on a number of counts, yet which has certain amenities provided by few other such places. We then visit a number of old people's homes, including a small one in a village, one of the most modern homes in Denmark in the prosperous Copenhagen suburb of Gentofte, and a typical average home.

11 year old Mahmoud from Cairo loves the circus, and dreams of performing as an acrobat in The National Egyptian Circus. So Mahmoud practice several days a week with the experienced circus artist Kamal, who joggles Mahmoud on his feet one and a half metres above the ground in a dangerous and daring acrobatic act. But the day only has so many hours, and there is also so much homework to do. So Mahmoud struggles to live his dream, and keep his place above the ground, beneath the sky.

The cold and ugly sides of human nature reveal themselves as the narrative touches on the cycle of birth and death and the absurdity of life. Let's hope the doctor can help!

On a trip around Finland with seasoned travel photographer Axel Hald-Christensen. The trip starts on board the ferry Finlandia. On the way, the travel photographer and his travel companions pass Lahti, Mikkeli and Savonlinna, where he films sights such as Olavinlinna (Olofsborg) and the Kerimaki Church. Along the way, they stay overnight at campsites and both sail and swim in the many lakes and rivers. The landscape is characterized by forest and water. The trip also passes Helsinki and the various sights that the capital offers: the iconic station building, the market square, open-air theater and folk dancing in Finnish folk costumes. In addition, there are also recordings from, among other places, the Temple Square Church and the statue of Johan Ludvig Runeberg, who is considered Finland's national poet. Finally, the trip heads home again with Finlandia.
