Granted that its elegant and sophisticated design wins the hearts of women, its success is primarily due to the attractiveness of its designer, Leo Visconti. The film’s plot spans two eras: the 1930s and the present. Inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush, Stalin ordered gold mining in the Soviet Union using political prisoners, appointing his film projectionist as the head of the Kolyma mines. The projectionist enthusiastically extracted gold, made bullets from it, and received the Order of Lenin. Over 70 years later, journalist Mykola Vorotnytskyi finds a businessman’s body with the Order of Lenin and a gold bullet. Despite an investigation revealing the killer, Mykola chooses not to disclose the name, prioritizing ethics over a monetary reward.

Film based on the memoirs and recollections of Ismael Viñas: legendary political figure, economist, founder of Movimiento de Liberación Nacional (MALENA), former Undersecretary of Culture during the Revolución Libertadora. Viñas reappears in front of camera after twenty-six years in self-imposed exile, first in Israel and finally in the US. During a series of conversations with Montes-Bradley in Florida, USA, Viñas reflects on his youth, on his brother David, on his father, a well political character during the times of Hipólito Yrigoyen, and a Federal Judge in Patagonia during the uprisings portrayed in Rebellion in Patagonia[64] in the early 1920s. Viñas also recalls his imprisonment during the Peronist period, and with particular emphasis his relationship with Ernesto Che Guevara, and Salvador Allende amongst many other relevant figures of the period.

This film is about two Ukrainians cousins: Sergey and Eduard, who are illegal immigrants in Portugal. They work as construction workers in the outskirts of Lisbon. The two of them share a converted garage with three others illegal Ukrainian immigrants. Their life in the garage is very basic and dull, but their inner life is full of contradictory feelings and nostalgia. The film describes their final months in voluntary exile, when yearning for home becomes more acute while the question of prolonging their stay arises. Finally, they leave Portugal and the film follows their first days in their own country. What kind of dreams can give them the strength to live and survive in these inhuman conditions in a faraway land?

Like those famed tornado chasers, filmmaker Christian Anthony pursued art rock heavies OXBOW through five countries, two fistfights and a treasure trove of shows to come back with a document that is all at once profane, dangerous, funny, rage-inducing, and finally the most succinct take on artistic obscurity that has graced a screen in recent memory. Like the anit-Pennebaker, Anthony scores with a film that no one will care about, about a band no one cares about, for an experience that everyone will care about.
