At the very end of the 19th century, The Invincibles were the ruling champs. Now, as we enter the 21st century, Manchester United dominate the game. In the intervening 100 years, the game has produced hundreds of star players, from the early years of the White Horse final through to the emergence of Michael Owen at the 1998 World Cup finals. Featuring rare archival footage, exclusive interviews, and the most memorable moments from the most thrilling matches, CENTURY OF FOOTBALL, presented by Radio 5 Live's Alan Green, is an essential addition to any football fan's DVD collection.

This evocative abstract work was created with a series of what could be considered "wrong" actions. First the artist exposed blank, undeveloped 16mm film to sunlight on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. The film was then converted to video without removing any of the typically undesirable elements of the moving image: the head and tail of the film, the video scan lines, and other remnants and visual noise. Each element is instead emphasized, and they become primary visual components of the work. The resulting images flashing on the screen are as fleeting as the sunlight they record and as fragmented as the collective memory of an American landmark.

This fully produced video introduces students to his philosophy and his critical studies of education, the arts and the implications of democracy for the lives of individuals and their communities. Dewey lived in a different era of history than we do, but many of his concerns are very relevant to life today. Maintaining a democracy in the face of diverse ethnic values, educating the young to participate fully in the life of their community, and expanding individual perceptions through participation in the arts were among the issues he examined.
