This play is based on “The Makropulos Case”, written by the famous Czech writer Karel Čapek. As usual, Takarazuka has added their own spin to the original story; the most notable change in this play is that the genders of most of the major characters have been reversed. (In the original play, the main character is a woman.)

It's all cutting-edge urban (if not exactly urbane!) hip-hop when hosts Fonz and Mike take over a television station and reprogram it with dicey humor, hilarious interviews with leading recording artists and some fly animated shorts -- all told from a hip-hop perspective, of course. Think "South Park" but with baggy trousers and boxers showing.

The film’s protagonist, Ahmet, was tending sheep high in the mountains when a merciless mudflow destroyed his house, taking with it all his family and friends. And Ahmet leaves his home, for the first time in his 30-year-long life, for faraway Moscow in search of his only surviving cousin. On his way he meets different people… The train conductor takes him under her wardship, instructing him about life in the city of which he has no idea whatsoever. Though he’s lost his bearing in this world, Ahmet is charging people who more fortunate than himself with his kindness and joi de vivre. The shooting took place in Alagir Canyon, next to Karmadon Canyon where Sergey Bodrov’s production group had perished. Yaropolk Lapshin had completed shooting two days before the Karmadon tragedy.

The tragic fate of both one family and the Armenian people is expressed through the strikingly minimalist prism of one picture, whilst the resilience of identity and belonging is conveyed as the family sings 'Happy Birthday' in a sequence of languages - Armenian, Arabic, French, Dutch and English. By representing displacement in one constantly restoring image, Mekhitar Garabedian responds to the crossgenerational impact of diaspora and genocide with a performative act: the consoling process of continuously becoming. ‘‘Miroirs Obscurs, slave collection’ is about endless sexual preliminaries, a prologue to an sado-masochist sexuel intercourse. The film redimensions erotism between apparition and vanishing, revelation and suspension as if looked at from the inside. No story, just a quake, a permanent tension, a continuous flux. Behind the metamorphosis of the body into an animal or even a chimere (?), something is at play between the rawness and the marvellous of carnal bodies. This video is part of the Slave collection : a series of portraits of men show as sexslaves. Thirteen anonymous actors took part with accessories from the SM scene : geisha balls, stretchballs, iron godemichet, piercing rings, cagoule,...

"Do you have the Shine?" is a film version of the game with the same name. The setting for the film is inspired by the hotel in Stanley Kubrick's film,"The Shining". The viewer sees the deserted hotel corridors through the eyes of a boy on a tricycle. In spite of the non-interactive nature of the medium, the film is built up like the video game it is based upon. Through the rules presented in the intro and the rolling pointmarks, the viewer is inscribed with the notion that they are able to determine the course of the film. Corner after corner are passed with the uncomfortable, anxious feeling that decades of horror film have imprinted in all of us.
