Mr. Turgeon is a lonely bachelor. When his fantasies about a female companion fail to materialize, he tries to fill the void with an overabundance of consumer goods. There is nothing in his life but the raucous music of his neighbours. A digital urban tale with the naïve style of paper cut-outs, Lonesome Monsieur Turgeon is an amusing but sympathetic portrait of a man who feels all alone in the world. If only he could connect with the people around him.

The only son of the family, Deleg, went to the army four years later and disappeared without telling his family. Waiting for the missing man, the dowry will be turned away by the local men, but the man thinks of the PROMISE he made to his husband and continues to live with his mother-in-law as his wife and neighbor... The movie shows the heart of a wife who waits for her missing spouse, the heart of a mother who complains to her daughter-in-law when she is sad that she is going to die, and the broken heart of a daughter who is her father. The knot of the whole story of the film is unraveled by the hoarse whisper.

An insight into Rangers' second top goalscorer, after Ally McCoist charting his career from that glorious day at Hampden in 1970 to the present as a broadcaster on radio and television. Derek Johnstone leapt straight into football's history books at the tender age of 16 when he was the youngest player ever to score a winning goal in a national final. That was at Hampden, October 24, 1970, the League Cup, which Rangers won against Celtic was the prize. The 1970s was Derek's golden era. He won a European medal in 1972 in Barcelona, the treble in 1976 and was Rangers top goalscorer. He won another treble in 1978. All of these achievements made him a Rangers legend.

Ride To The Hills from 2001 is an all-out metal driven freeride assault. It features all the early Canadian freeriders ripping it up on what have now become the standard locations from The Shore to Virgin, Utah. You will get a glimpse of the short lived urban freeride trend and a lot of XC helmets. There are plenty of big Southern Utah hucks long before Rampage was conceived. Darcy Wittenburg of The Collective/Anthill worked on the cinematography and was there ever a film where Sterl wasn’t somehow involved?

Twenty-seven year old Altine is a mother of two, living on the plains of Northern Senegal. As we watch her going about her daily chores, rhythmically threshing the millet, cooking over an open fire, she tells us of her aspirations. Her strongest wish is for adequate food, good health, and to remain close to her family Images of Western life have not penetrated her village which is three hours from a paved road. This cinematically beautiful film captures life in the dry season which lasts nine months. Cows and goats share the dusty landscape. Villagers trek great distances to bring back the heavy load of water for daily needs. Although life is difficult, there is a dignity about the people.

A single channel video featuring the American artist Andrea Fraser as she walks around the atrium of the Guggenheim Bilbao listening to the institution’s audio guide. After an initial shot of the entrance, the video shows Fraser wearing a short green dress and high heels picking up an audio guide inside. Once she begins listening to the guide the soundtrack changes so that the viewer also hears the same male voice as the artist (and without any background noise). Shot with five hidden cameras – one on Fraser herself and four others operated by assistants moving around the atrium – Little Frank and His Carp depicts Fraser from varying angles and proximities as she initially follows the audio guide’s instructions closely, her emotions visibly changing in response to the material she hears. Told that modern art is ‘demanding, complicated, bewildering’, she appears anxious, but when the guide tells her ‘the museum tries to make you feel at home’, she immediately seems reassured and happy.

Goats and Sheep uses the source material of the installation Withershins, 1995, consisting of two simultaneous views of a person signing: the hands and arms are framed in one, and the back of the head and top of the shoulders in the other. This latter view catches the hands when they refer to the head during signing. For Goats and Sheep, Hill changed the color image into black-and-white, re-recorded his own voice and “re-synchronized” it to the original signing. The stereo field is used to double the voice with about a second of delay added to the sound. This doubling mirrors the hands and numerous references and repetitions heard in the text.

Gora is a frail middle-aged woman who works as a janitor in one of the sleeping areas of Rostov-on-Don. She has neither a residence permit nor a medical policy, and in order to somehow save money, she lives with a friend in a barracks for 500 rubles. The two-storey densely populated hut survived only because it stood in the landfill for its entire history. People have been living here for more than forty years. They grow geese and goats in summer kitchens, boil themselves, drink, love, die. A nunnery is located a hundred meters from the barracks. There are 15 girls of all ages in it, in essence, this is the same barrack, only completely whitewashed and surrounded by a brick fence. They say the abbess is a former prison guard. Passion is no worse than in the cool Mexican series.
