An old man K.K. Madhavan noted for his thinking and stance on social issues is proud of his scientist son Siddharthan but upset about the country's involvement in nuclear tests. He continues his crusade against nuclear weapons but together with his loyal wife Bharathi finds himself increasingly isolated as his own son, his party and the country celebrate the nuclear advances made in India.

In 1999 a fibre-glas wire was installed from Thailand to Vietnam straight trough Cambodia. Rithy Panh shows us the work done in Cambodia to connect Khmer-society to "modern world". Farmers, soldiers and children work for a living there and unearthen skulls and bones -their remains from PolPot-regime you can see. The fear in their mind is portrayed by Rithy Panh in this documentary. As the other work done by Rithy Panh this deals with his people. I like it very much! The movie was awarded 1999 at "Visions du Réel" in Nyon (Switzerland) and at "Cinéma du Réel" in Paris.

This documentary introduces us on the daily life of a group of kids who live on the street. Through the narrative and experiences of the protagonists, we discover the Latin American marginality hidden beneath a contemporary city like Santiago de Chile. Lifeless dolls are heaped inside drawers, dolled-up life size figures lie motionless on a windy beach at the water’s edge; a chair rocks in an empty room, a mirror reflects and observes, and a chest of drawers is caressed by the sea. The film has a dramatic sensibility that sets up a false promise of narrative. Its structure, instead, is akin to that of dreams where different scenic spaces collapse and the inanimate and animate interchange. Wide-angled perspectives, shifting points of view and juxtapositions of sound and silence force inner and outer realities to collide, creating an unsettling psychic world.

British mod rocker Steve Marriott had great stage presence, a unique voice and plenty of angst -- all on display in this docu-concert featuring clips from Marriott's days in bands the Small Faces and Humble Pie. Though Marriott remained a lesser-known musician throughout his abbreviated life, performance selections here, such as "Paradise Lost" "Black Coffee" and "Lazy Sunday," bring it all back for his fans.

For this video shot in Texas, Christian Marclay connected an electric guitar to an amplifier and dragged it behind a pick-up truck. The resulting cacophonic sound evokes noise music and the destruction of instruments at rock concerts and in Fluxus performances. The work refers more precisely to a racist murder committed in 1998 not far from the film location - James Byrd Jr. an African American, was dragged by a truck for several kilometers.
