This special tribute traces the roots of this truly American art form, from the storytelling of Will Rogers and the heyday of the Grand Ole Opry, where colorful comic characters like Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl and Rod Brassfield became famous household names, to comedy legend Andy Griffith sharing priceless clips and memories from his days as a young stand-up comic and decade-long run on The Andy Griffith Show, to Bill Engvall ("Here's Your Sign"), helping Foxworthy introduce us to some of the funniest comics working today. Featuring classic and contemporary clips from Don Knotts, Jim Varney, Jerry Clower, Junior Samples, Brother Dave Gardner, Gary Mule Deer, Etta May, Steve McGrew, Larry The Cable Guy and many more.

This film almost literally visualize three short stories on which it is based. The difficulty was to assign real spaces in the film for the world of short stories that does not require material reality. The question of ”What is love?” is stretched into three periods: the 70s, the 80s and the 90s. The story which is divided into three periods is trying to reveal the story of the main characters through three different periods of their lives.

Henri Rousseau was a true amateur. His professional life was spent working as a customs official. But in his spare time, he painted and was utterly convinced of the greatness of his art, despite his complete lack of formal training. Although he was heavily criticized by many for his use of brightly colored images and child-like techniques, he did bring a sense of vitality, charm and innocence to his painting.

On Saturday before Easter, when the Easter bunnies looked after their eggs, they were scared to death. All eggs have been stolen. The bunnies were broken hearted: “If we don’t find the eggs no child will find an Easter egg this year”, Dad moaned. “And even worse: The children will not believe Easter bunnies are really existing”, Mom mentioned. “This must not happen, in no case”, grandpa says. But after a while Anna has an idea...

With warmth, modesty and infectious enthusiasm, Boulez explains the hidden architecture of his most recent work, Sur Incises, to a non-specialized young audience. On a number of occasions, Pierre Boulez has shown that he can come up with the right words and gestures to throw a light on complex musical scores. Here he demonstrates his teaching talents in talking about his work as a composer: after conducting the nine soloists of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, who follow him with visible pleasure through the mysteries of a spectacular score, he offers a witty exposition of the musical movements that make up its construction.

By shifting the discourse of the gaze, the film implicates viewers in the gazes operating between the filmmaker and her self-identified lesbian butch subjects. -Canyon Cinema

73 Suspect Words is a deceptively simple and ultimately chilling meditation on the power of text. Ahwesh succinctly delves into one person's obsessive irrationality, and his expressions of fear and anger. Based on a spell-check of the Unabomber's manifesto, the work evokes the violence underlying the key words presented.

A documentary mostly edited together from unused footage from The Endless Summer and The Endless Summer II, this documentary gives further insight into the making and success of the original classic surf documentary. It is written, produced and directed by Dana Brown, son of the director of the first two films, Bruce Brown (who executive produced this film). This film likely will appeal only to hardcore fans of the Endless Summer films, but it does feature more of the gorgeous cinematography for which the earlier films are famous. Past lives. Dead outlaws. Warm beer. All these await Charley Stone in the afterlife -- and life after death ain't quite what he expected. Charley is reunited with two old friends -- a rifleman named Jake and a philosophizing barkeep, Cole -- as well as a band of ruthless enemies from lives past. Somewhere in the harsh drylands lie the keys to Charley's forgotten past -- a troubled former life as Ben Kane, a Texas Ranger whose ruthless justice sent many outlaws to Hell long ago. Part action movie, part philosophical musing, Hell is Texas is a gothic western that redefines the ghost story -- a harsh tale of redemption, rediscovery, and revenge from beyond the grave.

An official selection of the Sundance Film Festival and PBS, The Return of Navajo Boy is an internationally acclaimed documentary that reunited a Navajo family and triggered a federal investigation into uranium contamination. It tells the story of Elsie Mae Begay, whose history in pictures reveals an incredible and ongoing struggle for environmental justice. A powerful new epilogue (produced in 2008) shows how the film and Groundswell Educational Films outreach campaign create news and rally supporters including Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA). The Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform mandated a clean-up plan by the five agencies responsible for uranium contamination. Ironically, the US EPA's Comprehensive Five-Year Plan did not include Ms. Begay's backyard, until she travelled with this film to Washington, DC and screened it on Capitol Hill in September, 2008.
