The theme of Nika Papadopulosová's graduation film Polednice is a ballad from the collection Kytice by Karel Jaromír Erben. The author avoids illustrative processing of the classic theme and presents its contemporary interpretation, for which she uses progressive digital technology. Actress Monika Načeva, in the role of the mother of a naughty child, moves in the virtual environment of a futuristic kitchen, where she copes with the choice between maternal duties and the entertainment of the virtual world. In contrast to the fantastic scenography and music by Jan P. Muchov, actress Jaroslava Adamová recites the traditional wording of the ballad. A professional film crew consisting of cameraman Asen Šopov, sound engineer Ondřej Ježek and producer Martin Kořínek participated in the production of the film, and the post-production of the work was carried out in the graphic studio of Nova Television.

DOZER features the bulldozer as an icon of American culture and examines the continuous reconstruction of our surroundings. An important point of focus is the impact of the automobile and its infrastructure on our society, environment, and general quality of life, as bulldozers exchange natural landscapes for freeways - landscapes of an industrialized society. This film explores how and why the advent of the automobile has reshaped our lives with an emphasis on several questions: what was there before? What has changed due to the car?

One thousand miles from nowhere lies lonely outpost of coral and sea called Midway. It was here in 1942 that the United states and Japan fought the greatest naval battle of all time, and changed the course of World War II. Join Titanic discoverer Dr. Robert Ballard as he, a team of experts, and four World War II veterans return to Midway to do the impossible: to locate at least one of the five downed aircraft carriers, including the U.S.S Yorktown. Hear the amazing accounts of the four men who narrowly escaped with their lives, and watch as they pay their final respects to their fallen comrades three miles below the waters of Midway.

"I've been screening film works for nearly 50 years, and out of the many screenings I've been to, there have been two times when the audience fainted. My work "Memories of the Seaside" and a certain work by Mari Terajima. However, Hideto Ishii's "Lights" was the only one that immediately after the screening, one audience member exclaimed, "It's amazing!" and stood up and applauded. When I thought who it was, it turned out to be the filmmaker Isao Kota. Sitting through this film for nearly 50 minutes can be a pain. However, what is unfolding here is neither a spectacular view nor a visual pleasure. If you were to ask me what it was, I would have to say "abyss." That's why I'm attracted to. As you watch this movie, you can eliminate the distractions that occupy most of your mind one by one. After just under 50 minutes, you might be able to reach some kind of catharsis." — Mikio Yamazaki

In this video, dancers move about a set designed by Mike Kelley, interacting and silently commenting on various choreographies: Martha Graham’s “mythological” dances, gestures derived from the observation of monkeys’ behaviours in Harry Harlow’s experiments conducted in the 1960s, and violent, “cathartic” behaviours described in the films by the psychologist Albert Bandura about the effects of televised violence on preschool-aged children.

After volunteering as a blood donor, the HIV virus is found in 31-year-old Li Ziliang. He is immediately fired by his boss for fear of infection. Every time he walks on the street, he is surrounded by groups of people that stare at him. ‘One touch and you’re finished’, one of them thinks. ‘People with AIDS should be cursed. Only immoral people get AIDS’, another one comments. Nobody wants to sell anything to Li, because they do not want to touch the money that has passed through his hands. Only in distant Beijing can he walk around undisturbed. His wife is at her wit’s end, too, because she also lost all her friends. One day, she gets on her bicycle and never returns. She leaves Li behind with three children, who will not find anyone to take care of them after he has passed away.
