"You will marry the land, my son !", is the order that a peasant mother could have given her son. The son is called Loulou, he is 40 years old and has been living alone in the farm he inherited from his parents, since their death. His pals, his work, Aurore, his confidante, who lives in the same village as him, are his comforts. However, celibacy seems to him to be his only option, his fate.

Screened together with Gundam: Mission to the Rise at Gundam's 20th Anniversary event "Gundam Big Bang Sengen" in Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall. Selected scenes from Kidou Senshi Gundam were re-edited for three giant projection screens to give the widescreen feel to the original 4:3 aspect footage. They were also computer synchronized to sweeping lights and lasers to simulate space battles. The soundtrack was remixed for six-channel surround sound.

Original Estonian underground rave generation video art – it's cheap, it's loud, it looks like a home video, it's a manifesto against the male-dominated, post-Soviet art world. Created for the exhibition "private views. space re/cognized in contemporary art from Estonia and Britain" (curated by Mare Tralla and Angela Dimitrakaki in the Estonian Art Museum, 1998) Kiwa was the only male artist on the show and chose, quite pertinently, to focus on the space most associated with male creativity. The mythology of the artist's studio as the protected sanctuary of freedom and self-expression par excellence has risen across diverse techniques of visual signification. Access to the studio means access to a celebrated subjectivity.

With promises from an adoption agency for a better life, two 8-year old twin girls are reluctantly sent away for adoption by their parents to the US. Pushed to quickly assimilate and become American by their adoptive parents, the girls' life and family back in Korea soon become a distant past. Thirteen years later, the sisters return to their go-hyang or homeland to reunite with their birth parents and two younger brothers. No longer able to speak the same language, and almost strangers with each other, the girls attempt to reconnect with their family and find out the truth about their adoption. Searching for Go-hyang is about the decisions we are sometimes forced to make, as well as the contradictions and reconciliations in our lives.

In Passenger, Robert Gardner made what he calls “an observation in four movements.” The intent of the piece is to impart an experience of the engagement by Sean Scully with the work in question, an engagement which is both physical and emotional. The only sounds are those made by the artist as he works and, occasionally, musical passages from tapes Scully listens to while he is painting.

In Macedonia, former Yugoslavia, two Sheikhs squabble for power in a Dervish brotherhood. In this fragile, unsteady society, far from God and traditional Sufism, their petty quarrel focuses on the issue of which group will pierce itself at the Nevruz ceremony. Through the rivalry between these two characters, who correspond to two opposing archetypes of religious leaders, the documentary offers a living glimpse of spiritual experience at a popular level, which, despite the humorous situations and extraordinary images, may shock our sensitivity.

Three student filmmakers decide to film themselves in the acts of acquiring, killing, cleaning, cooking and eating a turkey. While the title is obviously about their "meal," it also suggests the film's curious obsession with the filmmakers themselves and their journey from barnyard to table. Either way, you WILL remember it come Thanksgiving.

Documentary short film from 1998. The film is about twin sisters Dafeng and Xiaofeng, whose mother died when they were born. The sisters were raised by their aunt and uncle. When Dafeng and Xiaofeng were two years old, their biological father filed a lawsuit in court to have them returned to his custody. Regarding the issue of the attribution of Dafeng and Xiaofeng, the original defendants did not give in to each other in court. In the case of ineffective mediation, the court made another final judgment.

This story centres on man's desperation that drives belief in false gods. The fear of death leads many to seek solutions outside Godly ways. The Power given to us to Bind evil is from God and must be sincerely and righteously sought after. At the peak of demonic invasions, if God's people believe, pray and exercise their spiritual rights and authority, then all forms of evil forces shall be ceased out of their lives. Victory is always for the righteous.

With Sollers, the absolute isolated, André S. Labarthe approached as closely as possible “the most recognized and the most fought, the most solicited and the most secretly hated, the most turbulent and the most embarrassing, the most uncontrollable and therefore the most intolerable, in short, the least localizable of contemporary writers.” A unique Sollers, deliberately spun outside the walls and against the grain. Far from the conventional, plethoric imagery of the spectacular Parisian scene, an inexhaustible field of social observation. Few archive elements, apart from a few photos and two significant extracts where Philippe Sollers displays his Paradise seized head-on by Jean-Paul Fargier in 1983.

Philadelphia's Eastern State Penitentiary was built in the 1820s, inspired by Enlightenment ideas and Quaker belief in solitary reflection and penitence. This documentary, illustrated with period lithographs, engravings, and photographs, gives a detailed history of the prison from its initial practice of total solitary confinement through its transformation into an overcrowded "Big House" to its replacement with a modern facility in 1970.

"More than a thousand years ago, demons summoned by a group of banished sorcerers brought forth a bottomless abyss. A passage to the bowels of Hell. A demon by the name of Golzarath ventured to the surface to explore this world of mortals. He has never returned to his kind and forever haunts these mountains." This is the story that a young man tells his friend while spending the night in a mountain refuge, as a horde of undead creatures rushes towards them, awakened by the incantations of the demon Egrezebel.

Compilation of single video pieces, containing, among others: Intimacy (1-4), The Thing of Des., Chickenwalk - Head Talk, Has got/Hasn´t, Me Thing - You Dog. Objects are noticed, found, gathered up, taken along or given away as gifts. Objets trouvés. They are removed from their functional contexts and seem to speak for themselves. These objects remain concrete and are employed as the raw material for Sabine Marte’s films. Her camera is simultaneously a tool and an instrument and an amplifier. Or, in the words of Sabine Marte: “It was from the beginning on very difficult to articulate subjects that didn’t have any interest for those who are in power, nowadays we have found new means to give our ideas the necessary space. Thank you.”

Turkish democracy got over the 27th of May and the 12th of March and set off again, but the storm did not subside and the mutual reckoning was not over. On the contrary, new fronts were opened in the country and blood began to flow like a gutter. Finally, on September 12, there was a knock on the door again. Those who came that day changed everything, everything. Nothing would ever be the same again, nothing would be the same as before.

The game of Pétanque in Provence is both a structural and a composite element of social life. Structural because it obeys unchanging rules and rites, composite because it is practiced equally by all social classes. To get beyond a simple playful look, Sami Sarkis proposes to set up a dramatic climax, which is a pretext for a character study where what is truly at stake is no longer simply victory but above all the quest for respectability.
