Objects are noticed, found, gathered up, taken along or given away as gifts. Objets trouvés. They are removed from their functional contexts and seem to speak for themselves. These objects remain concrete and are employed as the raw material for Sabine Marte’s films. Her camera is simultaneously a tool and an instrument and an amplifier. Or, in the words of Sabine Marte: “It was from the beginning on very difficult to articulate subjects that didn’t have any interest for those who are in power, nowadays we have found new means to give our ideas the necessary space. Thank you.”
