Jean Burg, a young pastor with a faith as pure as it is unshakeable, is appointed to a mountain village to replace Pastor Bouvier, a local man who was much loved by his parishioners. Jean Burg is obsessed with purity and divine punishment. His first sermon, uncompromising in tone, provokes hostile reactions among the villagers. The parishioners complain about him to the synod council. The young pastor is threatened with suspension for mental incapacity. Scared, Jean Burg tries to get closer to his flock. He doesn't know that Geneviève, the very attractive daughter of the richest man in the village, is about to turn his life upside down...

The Akha have a dangerously bad reputation: smuggling, destroying the forest, ignoring frontiers, growing opium. If they remain in the hills the Thaï will eventually destroy them, if they accept to go down to the valleys they will surely die of disease. The Akha are running out of options.

Description: Mountains of Gold is a unique chronicle of a nomadic, hunter gatherer society undergoing the profound change to a money economy over a ten-year period. This tribe was first discovered by Australian explorers in 1938. Original footage shows the people's amazement at seeing their "white ancestors" in their midst. Until 1984, when gold was discovered on their land, the Ipini's wealth was still being measured by how many wives and pigs they had. When they decided to sell their land to the goldmining company, their way of life would change forever. The mining company began the long and arduous process of bargaining with the Ipini who were surprisingly skilled negotiators.

After his sister, Nimmo, is tragically killed while in love with Jagira, Sardar Pratap Singh forbids anyone to fall in love. Years later he will end up deeply regretting this decision as he will find out that his very own daughter, Preeto, has fallen in love with Jeeto. He must now publicly punish her so as to set an an example for the entire community.

A child's perspective on the most overlooked superhero of the home - mother.

In 1984 an observational documentary was produced in Austin for Swedish television, entitled Demon Angel: A Day and Night With Roky Erickson. It featured Erickson in plugged and unplugged performances, solo and with local musician/producer Mike Alvarez on additional guitar, in an underground creek beneath the Congress Street Bridge on Halloween.

People with Tourette Syndrome (TS) , a rare and incurable genetic disorder, are the subject of the irreverently titled Twitch and Shout, a riveting, unsettling, and frequently funny inside look at what it's like to live with this often misunderstood neurological condition. Twitch and Shout not only sheds light on the nature of this puzzling disorder, it also examines the way society all too often heaps scorn and abuse on those who stray, however involuntarily, outside the limits of conventional behavior.

Leikr – Journey Towards Light is an old Norse word meaning game fight or exercise. An exciting meeting after a journey in an animated and evolving Nordic landscape. Original music by Bendik Hofseth, saxophone player and composer. A diverse artist who has written music for ballet, movies and theatre.

Between 1989 and 1990, photographer Mary Ellen Mark went to India to document the lives of circus performers—a journey that resulted in her book “Indian Circus,” published in 1993. In 1992, Mark and director Martin Bell returned to India to film many of the same performers. The resulting short, THE AMAZING PLASTIC LADY (1995), focuses on Pinky, a ten-year-old acrobat who, like the children in STREETWISE, lives on society’s margins. The film also continued Bell’s work with editor Nancy Baker.

A portrait of the celebrated Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir. Over the course of a year the film looks at the diversity of the choir's achievements and shows how it has become a symbol of changing attitudes in contemporary Australia.
