A series of experimental short clips that Mohamed Soueid directed while part of the team of TéléLiban, Lebanon’s main public television channel. Initially intended as a special filler program on food and scheduled to be aired during Ramadan in 1994, these 34 films, each five minutes, were turned into a controversial satirical daily series criticizing Lebanese food culture and depicting the ongoing changes impacting postwar Lebanon.

Ray will do anything he can to prevent this from happening. The bonds of friendship begin to fray and the lines of trust become blurrier by the minute building to a tragic climax.

Combining a concert film with a making-of documentary, this presentation provides a dramatization of Franz Schubert's famed song cycle along with a unique look at the collaborative process in bringing the production to the screen. Tenor Ian Bostridge vocalizes the part of the wanderer from Wilhelm Müller's poems (on which the cycle is based), with Julius Drake accompanying him on piano and David Alden directing.

Mom Doe gives birth to a fawn named Goldie and all the creatures of the forest want to visit him. Wuschel, the squirrel, soon became his best friend. Every animal and plant in the forest knows man is a great danger. So, when Wuschel and Goldie meet the creepy trees, they advise them to stay away from men and their technology. The little fawn doesn't believe these stories and he decided to play with giant bees.

Four beautiful women are stalked by a sadistic hunter known as The Trapper. Each of them is snared in a trap and then stripped of their clothes, left bound, gagged and helpless and then brutally attacked. After one of them dies, a girl escapes and then plots her revenge.

"Three Interviews." This is from my archives, a TV shoot with Dima Frolov, 1994. Part one: my interview with Vlad for St. Petersburg TV. This interview is listed first because it's being published online for the first time. Part two: Vlad interviews Viktor Tuzov, and part three: Vlad interviews Timur Novikov (we filmed these two interviews for Tatyana Didenko's program "Silence 9"). I've already published the last two interviews online, but I decided to combine all three now—for friends, a chance to mentally transport myself back to those wonderful times when it seemed nothing could foreshadow disaster (at that point, Viktor was already terminally ill, but it was perceived as something extraordinary—an accident, an evil fate, the fate of one man).

He is a devout believer who goes about his work. One day, the goddess appears in his dream, complains to him about the plight of 8mm film, and orders him to independently produce 8mm film.

1989, the fall of the Berlin wall. Television crews trying, for days on end, to get an emblematic image which would crystallise the event: to no avail. Five years later, Farocki delivers a montage film of this footage, trying to define this ‚absent image'. "Today, 5 years later, this material shows the extent to which the collective conscience was affected by the event, as well as all the efforts made to repress the trauma" declares the filmmaker.

Industrial mass murder in the Third Reich, atrocities in other wars, cruelty perpetrated by "normal" citizens: "obedience" appears to be the key to this behavior.

This complex piece is composed of a cylindrical space with padded walls where the viewer is invited to enter and see a video of Hatoum’s internal body. As such, she makes use of indispensable medical imaging technology (that without, the work would not exist). Hatoum uses the strategy of abjection in displaying the internal cavities in a way that has the effect of swallowing up the viewer. The abject destabilizes boundaries.

A pig lived in a village, who made it to the Royal Palace and then became the leader of the pirates, and then the French Navy admiral. His wife was a princess, who, of course, had to try to qualify for the honor to link her fate with the pig. She even had to learn his native language and learn how to cook his favorite dish.

Not so much loaves and fishes but pies and Irn Bru. The moral of this story is let us gives thanks to the Reverend for he is good and behold his gift of mirth is bountiful.

Off-camera, a Western traveler tells us of hearing singing from his hotel window in Bombay. He searches for the source, and discovers a caste of street performers, eking out a modest living. We see individuals and groups, old and young, snake charmers and those hired to sing at family celebrations. A few talk about their lives and refute accusations of kidnapping lodged against the caste.
