Third part of a cycle of five films titled SONGS OF THE EARTH, whose theme is the emergence of European civilization.

A documentary about the domination of Caribbean television by programs from the North, primarily the US. Proceeding from the observation that television in the Caribbean is overwhelmed by US and French programs, this film ambitiously weaves together interviews, indigenous poetry and music with clips from imported French and US television programs to show how Caribbean viewers receive a distorted view of the world that alienates them from their own cultural heritage. Also included is a glimpse of how Cuba has tackled the problem, featuring an interview with Cuban film director Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, and the US response in the form of Radio and TV Marti. This is part of the Developing Stories Series on Environment and Development. Starweek Magazine called it "An astonishingly searing look at TV."

In this spirited production of Leon Minkus's delightful ballet, young lovers Kitri (Nina Ananiashvili) and Basilio (Aleksei Fadeyetchev) are thwarted by her controlling father (Viktor Ailkin), who has plans to marry her off to foppish nobleman Gamache (Vladimir Golub). But when dashing adventurer Don Quixote (Alexsandr Astafiev) enters the village with his sidekick, Sancho Panza (Evgeny Katusov), fate just may smile upon the star-crossed couple.

The town of Hamelin is suffering a plague of rats. In exchange for a significant amount of gold, a mysterious flute player agrees to deliver them from these rodents. After reaching an agreement with the rulers, the piper plays a tune magic that draws all the rats and follow him to the river where they drown. But the rulers did not fulfill their part of the deal and the piper decides to take revenge.

The second film of documentary trilogy «Black Candle of the Bright Road. In memory of Vasyl Stus» covers the period from the first arrest on December 12, 1972 to the death of the father in June 1978. Interviews with his son Dmytro Stus, wife Valentyna Popelyukh, comrades Oleh Orach, Yevhen Sverstyuk, Opanas Zalyvakha, Ivan Kalynychenko, Leonid Seleznenko, Semen Hluzman, Iryna Kalynets and others reveal the details of the search, imprisonment, trial on September 7, 1972, and the prisoner's life of the writer.

The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra is the heart of Orthodox Russia. Its founder, the greatest ascetic of piety, St. Sergius of Radonezh, was famous not only for his transformation of monasticism, construction of monasteries, and miracles, but also for his gracious public service to the state and its "Christ-bearing" people. Called by the chroniclers "the abbot of the Russian land," he reconciled the warring princes and blessed the army for its battle against Mamai's hordes.

In 1922, Max Ernst produced a painting entitled “The Rendezvous of Friends”. In surrealist style, it shows his friends from Paris - including Robert Desnos, Hans Arp, Paul Éluard and André Breton - all avant-gardists. The documentary follows the painting's journey from the artist's easel to the Museum Ludwig.

Burford met Breer in February 1992 and filmed his actions. Breer manipulates some of his mutoscopes: he leafs through some cards of his film in the making, Sparkill Ave! A dome-shaped sculpture slowly moves across the space.

I 1992, Collingwood had to battle against the most overwhelming odds, but throughout the trials and tribulations, the Magpies stood tall. Before the season began, we lost Darren Millane in a tragic car accident. Doug Barwick, Premiership player in 1990, was ruled out of action when he shattered a knee, then midway through the season, Craig Kelly also injured his knee. Through sheer guts and determination, Collingwood repeatedly shut down opposition big guns, reduced games to tight contests and greeted the final siren triumphant. In the end the well of good fortune would dry up, but not before another stirring fightback. When the book is written about '92, Collingwood will be remembered for two things - its competitiveness and its heart.

The idea for the film has its origin in the novel of the same name by Alexander Radischchev, published in 1790 - a literary voice against the oppression of people, which was denigrated as a danger. Tsarin Catherine II first pronounced a death sentence and later sent Radischev into Siberian exile. In the Soviet Union, his criticism of the conditions in Tsarism was considered decisive for the socialist idea.
