Yigal Borstein's experimental short film is based on Baruch Spinoza's book of the same name ("Ethics", in Latin). Spinoza called his philosophical theory "geometric"; Accordingly, the prominent visual element in this film is also the geometry. Burstein shows what is happening simultaneously on four balconies of one building. The camera films the events statically and without movement, and as time passes, the events alternate using jump-cuts. The building is a microcosm of Israeli society, whose representatives inhabit each of the balconies: the lonely writer, the young woman and her partner, the family with children who live with the grandmother, the older couple - and later also the Arabs, followed by the IDF soldiers who drive them away.

"In Mexico, experimental filmmakers Hoolboom and Steve Sanguedolce set out to dissect the travel bug. Hoolboom's deadpan, incisive voice-over offers the viewer the air-tight experience of a Third World holiday, while images from an archaeological museum to a bullfight to an auto factory establish the dual contexts of tourism and Free Trade." This film captures the poignancy of a native people undergoing cultural change. When Susan Cornwell first encountered the Bedamini in Papua, New Guinea in 1971, they were aggressive and practiced cannibalism as part of their religion. She was able to befriend them and make a landmark film, Tidikawa and Friends. Now, on her return, she finds a people in Western dress, wearing T-shirts instead of nose bones. Many have been converted to Christianity. They perform their tribal dances for money, and use calculators to determine the charges. Susan shows them the old film and they respond with excitement to images of their former selves. The skillful intercutting of old and new footage dramatizes the effects of westernization on an indigenous people.

The rhythm and editing of the film and the mostly improvised choreography influence each other in this dance film or film dance. Four people in different forms of relationships: two women, a man and a woman, two men. At the center is a frozen love, two open relationships at the edges—a triptych. Three pieces of music: opera arias for the side sections of the triptych, a jazz tango for the main section. On the left and right, a camera on a steadycam; in the middle, a revolving stage—a contact improvisation begins, danced variations on the possibilities of togetherness and disunity.
