An early 90's promotional film for the relatively young Lancaster University, depicting the typical student life and youth culture of the era.

An Iranian man has been separated from his daughter, who's been in Soviet Azerbaijan, for 20 years. Finally he has the opportunity to cross the border and see her, but when he gets there he finds that she's been sentenced to death for "anti-Soviet activities."

A semi-autobiographical account of a move from Sri Lanka to Britain, which explores "being inbetween East/West, mother/father, male/female". The filmmaker was born in Sri Lanka and brought up in the traditions of European culture and Roman Catholicism. He moved to England to live and work, and the film, which combines drama and documentary, is a personal account of his "negotiation of his personal history".

Beko is a young Kurd who lives in the Turkish part of Kurdistan at the time of the Iraq war. After escaping from an unjustified arrest, he goes on a search for his brother, who planned to cross Syria and reach Iraq.

In this static film, a concentration camp survivor struggles on his deathbed to convey a sense of what he experienced to his daughter. Standard file footage of holocaust atrocities accompanies his monologues. His wife and daughter also have thoughts on the subject, which they convey in a similar manner.

When 'Allied' forces launched a war against Iraq in 1991 the Arab community in Britain sat horrified as they witnessed on television the death of innocent civilians and the destruction of a country. 'After The Storm' takes us through the experiences of a settled Arab community of Iraqi, Palestinian and Yemeni children, writers, political activists and steelworkers. It examines how Arabs are attacked and despised in the media and how this is manipulated to sway public opinion in times of war.
