Joey comes from the provinces to Manilla where he becomes chauffeur to an orphaned heiress who lives with her lawyer and his wife, who are trying to kill her for her money. The lawyer’s wife, the maid, the secretary, and the gay cook all fall in love with the new chauffeur, causing complications. During World War I, African-Americans worked on the railroad near Corbin, Kentucky. When whites returned from the war, there was conflict. Whites sought their former jobs and positions in the community. In 1919, a race riot occurred. Whites put the African-Americans on railroad cars and ran them out of town. In Trouble Behind, members of the Corbin community speak out on the issue. The filmmakers also interview former members of the Corbin, which at the time of filming had only one black family. Some Corbin residents express confusion as to why African-Americans don't move back. Others openly use racial epithets. Some young adults seem troubled by the racism, past and present. Others don't.

They recruited young people by force to use them as student soldiers and drafted workers while they took women to use as comfort women by force. The girl who has lived in a town on the border between Jeon Ra Do and Kyeong Sang Do was kidnapped by armed Japanese army. She was dispatched to a front of the Philippines where she went through miserable pains that weren't understandable not only for as human being but also as women. Her dream was to marry Young-Su of the next door school and to be a good mother who has a son and two daughters.

At first, the girl has some diversion from her intense and frightening relationship with her father in the person of her maternal grandmother, but that outlet is soon closed when her father bans her from their home.

She speaks about her dissatisfaction with the government and is immediately arrested. Honza is given to another family.

Jessie Weston is an ex-con recently released from prison after serving two years for auto theft. Jessie must go on the run, with Mary tagging along, to try to prove his innocence and kill all the bad guys out to kill him.
