Cinematic Era: 1989 Vintage

The monastery "St. Panteleimon" in Nerezi is a masterpiece of medieval, not only Macedonian but also Byzantine architecture. Its main features are the harmonious forms, the mastery of its builders, the polychrome facade of stone and brick, as well as the skillfully made domes. The painting, on the other hand, by unknown masters from 1164 represents the apogee of drama, unseen in medieval painting until Nerezi.

A little cockerel digs in the ground and notices a worm. He starts to pull it, but after the worm, a dog, a fox, a worker, and a train come out of the ground. The locomotive is decorated with flowers and flags. He moves quickly back, accompanied by a mighty shout of "Hurrah!".

A black silhouette wanders across some empty white space. In the background, we could see shapes of different equipment items. The routine of everyday life emerges from the play of black and white forms. The contrast between black and white (privacy) turns into grey reality outside the building. Loneliness changes into the indifference of passers-by.

This documentary is a tribute to Wilton Braga, a visionary artist who was one of the first people to be diagnosed with AIDS in Brazil. As Braga travels to Barcelona, New York and Sao Paolo, the film follows the quixotic journey of his last days.

Corbonne is a small village in the Drôme, near Valence. Before the Second World War there were 140 inhabitants, today there are 30. To stop the decline of the older part of Corbonne, a non-profit society has organised 7 work camps in four years. The highlight of these summer work camps is the 15th of August festival, which enables the friends of old Corbonne and the villagers to get together.

First musical festival of Ajrass Band at Regency Hotel in Bahrain

The short film Images represents one of the first audiovisual works of art created in Czechoslovakia, the production of which was made using computer animation. During her studies in the Film and Television Graphics Studio at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague, Lucie Svobodová focused primarily on classical animated storytelling through figurative drawing, but in one of her first films, Images, she abstracts the central plot and character and develops the possibilities of a new color morphology through the Amiga computer graphics system.

Begins with unslit regular-8mm Kodachrome (r.i.p.), projected as 16mm, documenting the rubbing of a Kodak r8mm Brownie camera, then the actual rubbed Brownie stuff - rubbed with 'heelball' rubbing wax onto Micropore paper surgical tape, put directly onto clear 16mm, and finally the reveal in a fantasy of when Brownie met guillotine tape splicer.

An experimental film with philosophical undertones, in which a boy paints cotton paper black, smudges his hands and draws black circles around his eyes. After a while, the boy disappears and only a black paper silhouette of a man remains on the easel.

The Oxford of the title is a small town in Iowa; the measurements in question are taken on everything but the kitchen sink, from gas pumps to street signs to the townsfolk themselves. Putting aside their midwestern scepticism, the inhabitants humor the filmmaker in his peculiar project, even acting as his cohorts.

In the Colombian Pacific, a few years ago there were still old people who claimed that the marimba was played in heaven. Currently in Tumaco a touch of marimba, the beating of two conunos, two bass drums and two guasás, on a Saturday night, indicate the celebration of a currulao. In the film, in the midst of currulaos, dance, stories, poetry, colorful choreography and stories are intertwined that depict the daily life of the residents of Tumaco. They are descendants of African slaves.

In this film based on the novel "Demise of Serui Dugan" by the folk writer Seng Erden, the sad story of how ancient Mongolian traditional rituals, religions and sum monasteries were destroyed by the black storm of repression in the 1930s is told in "Seruun" in Binder Sum, Khentii province. Dugan" is based on the tragic fate of the monastery.

When Jhargalmaa was at home, Sangi, the repairman of the apartment, came and the girl, bored alone while fixing the water pipes, showed him her drawing and they got to know each other. Seeing all this, Sangi, who still loves Dulamsuren in her heart, wants to get closer through her daughter. But life did not turn out as Sang thought. Jhargalmaa represented the sad truth of being separated from everything that people used to love.

There, she assumes the position of barmaid and occasional stripper in a sleazy nightclub that is the prime target of an apocalyptic fire. This is a reaction against the concept of the fall of humankind as presented in the holy Bible, which in most Christian circles places the blame completely on Eve herself. The absurdity of this idea and the film itself should be recognized.

A rainbow trout grows up in a safe fish farm with fixed feeding times. The fish are all protected from all dangers, but the life in the farm is so boring. When our little friend struggles to get something to eat, he collides with an another fish, and plump, he's suddenly outside the farm, left alone in the big, dangerous sea.

This tv-movie was shot in 1989. It is about a Taipei's police officer revenging for his potency and family.
