Biographical film about Kazimierz Przer-Tetmajer, a leading figure in Polish modernism. A poet that lived 75 years, the last thirty suffering from a progressive mental illness resulting from syphilis infection.

Dilettantishly cruel scenes from the "scene": A skinhead loves a dance girl and dreams of a petty-bourgeois future. When he is deprived of the wages of a robbery by his landlady, an impoverished princess, he kills her. His girlfriend sinks to being a prostitute and is also killed. It all ends in the prison cell with a dream vision of a white wedding in Berlin's Memorial Church. First film shot on Super-8 and blown up to 16mm by Tabea Blumenschein, who became known as a performer in underground films and as a costume designer.

This film is made from the soundtrack of the multimedia installation/environment Mystère I: Sleeping Hermaphrodite that we created for the XII Biennale de Paris in 1982. The idea of ​​creating a second work, purely cinematographic this time - here, from the same soundtrack, seemed particularly stimulating since it poses in depth the question of the complex relationships between sound and image in a non-narrative context. Four film students, Josy Meier, H. Nicol Meyerdierks, Armin Schneider and Martin Zawadzki, ask people on the streets of Berlin about their visions. By chance they meet Sabra, a migrant from Lebanon, who is a filmmaker himself.

Inspector Feroz is sent from Pakistan to help the Hong Kong police track down a terrorist group led by the evil Zangora. Meanwhile, a Pakistani scientist is misled by Zangora into working for him, but when he realizes what he's got himself into he plots to sabotage Zangora's world conquering plan.

A popular Jamaican women's troupe uses improvisation and theater as consciousness-raising tools for both rural and urban audiences. Their performances speak directly to the daily experiences of women--the least empowered workers, who labor long hours for low wages with no benefits or rights to organize for better conditions. Using role-play and interviews with female cane workers, the collective develops dramatizations which analyze social issues and pinpoint their concerns.

Deep Ellum is a place -- a part of Dallas, Texas. Deep Ellum, along with its legendary music scene built by the likes of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie Johnson, Lead Belly, and Bill Neely, all but disappeared with the construction of Central Expressway in the 1950s. This film is one of three short films in the Living Texas Blues series which explores the 1920's and 1930's night life in Dallas through the music of Bill Neely.

This short silent film—the first movie directed by THE DAYTRIPPERS filmmaker Greg Mottola, who also shot and edited it—was made during Mottola’s brief stint at Pittsburgh Filmmakers in 1985.

Hopefully learning the lessons of Close Up, the attempt was to construct the discrete form the (seemingly) continuous... so that, mainly retrospectively (yet during viewing) sequences present themselves as fragment-conglomorates. Therefrom might come questions of 'natural representations'... Filmic assumptions of evidence lacking, desired voyeurist pleasures could be turned into thought. Realism of another kind.

Fancy Pea is a Brazilian documentary produced, written and directed by Werner Schumann, in the year 1985, reporting facts about the life and work of the Brazilian writer, poet, translator and professor Paulo Leminski. The program was shown on TV in 1985 and 1989 (at the time of the death of the writer).

A chance meeting between our hero, a man named “Spider” (director Handy), and a disoriented powerlifter named Kathy, begets romance after some light dad-humor flirtation. When Kathy gets angry she turns silver and becomes stronger than an ox on the juice. This is explained later, kinda. After a health bar brawl resulting in $37,500 worth of damage (even though said brawl took place in the alleyway), our two heroes run for it. Kathy goes missing and Spider somehow determines that alien trashcans are to blame. It is never explained how he comes to this conclusion. He simply does, and relays this information to us with the same enthusiasm one would use when telling you they had a ham sandwich for lunch. He enlists the help of his military friend, Velasquez, to help find Kathy and fight an army of trashcans.

How to live in a prison when you have to serve a long sentence. Six inmates express themselves before the camera, telling about their everyday experiences, their feelings, their hopes and distress. Six prisoners but also six human beings who try to retain their dignity.

In The LPS File, Carrión appropriates the genre of documentary. This video deals with Carrión's attempt to put together the film festival: Lilia Prado Superstar Film Festival; his search for films in Mexico and his efforts to convince Lilia Prado to attend. Whilst this video has the appearance of a documentary, the apparent "truthfulness" of this genre is turned on its head: Carrión has substituted all his Mexican contacts for his Dutch friends and nearly all the conversations take place in English.

Cartouche is the third part of an unfinished four-part series (Narratives of Egypt) by Cartmell. It’s an audio-visual tombstone for his friend Cathy (Ca-thy, Ca-rtouche) whose pyramidical face is offered in between glimpses of Egypt and whaling and sex.

Whereas Lična Disciplina is a straight forward documentation of Terek’s performance, in The Effects of Earth's Gravity on Naive Beings Petrovic conveys his pessimistic message with a wide range of formal effects of the image and the sound. This film was produced at the Amateur Film Club of House of Youth Belgrade (Amaterski Filmski Klub Doma Omladine Beograd) and not in the AFC.
