The commander of the garrison, the former tsarist general Vostrosablin, decides not to surrender the fortress. To do this, he and Commissar Morgunov are developing a defense plan. White Colonel Zykov, with the support of the Basmachi and the British, hopes to take Kushka. But the tough confrontation between the parties ends with the victory of the defenders of the fortress.

Mexican President Velasquez has been deposed by a military coup, and is hiding in a secret place. After him are the military, who repress the loyalist peasants with brutality, and a gang of thieves, who want to get a cache of money. Velasquez thin hope of survival is his faithful bodyguard Cobra who may eventually help him escape, or at least get some documents out of the country. But Cobra can not do this alone, and alliances do not seem possible in the midst of a trigger-happy revolution.

When she meets her school friend Dr. Henrich one day, it is the impetus to free herself from the marital cage. The young, attractive hotel employee Gisa is completely different. She lives her life independently of the influences of others and enjoys her youth to the fullest. When Gisa and Karin's paths cross one day in a hotel, it has dramatic consequences.

Deutsche Grammophon celebrates Nikolaus Harnoncourt's 80th birthday with this 2-DVD release of rare, vintage, period Bach performances for the first time. Never released on DVD and, to the dismay of fans, long unavailable--these glorious Bach pieces are conducted by period instrument pioneer, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, as only he can. Harnoncourt, a notable cellist, performs in two concertos and on gamba in one. Harnoncourt warns, "If we lose contact with the great works of Bach, we lose our contact with humanity." Vocalists Janet Perry, Robert Holl, and Peter Schreier sing with distinction in the Coffee Cantata. The Surround Sound makes clear that they revel in the acoustics of the visually magnificent Baroque library of Wiblingen Monastery.

She does not stop herself from expressing to him her ideas of justice which go against family and colonial practices. Catherine and Abdelmalek's romance makes relationships increasingly strained, but the call for freedom will be stronger than a woman's love.

Eight tunnellers, led by Mikulás Litvák, go down with the lift for a new shift in the underground, close to the Máj department store. Each day they build a new meter on the B1 line of the Metro. In 14 years of work they have made 7 km of corridors and tunnels. The work is hard and sometimes dangerous. But they are a tight group, which trust each other's skilfulness.

Gallagher wants to talk to you about style. Yeah, the sweaty guy on roller skates with the one-of-a-kind "bowling ball wearing a hula skirt" hairdo. Might seem like an odd topic coming from the man who uses humor as a blunt instrument (and not just when he's wailing a watermelon with his Sledge-O-Matic), but that's just what you get in this hour-long stand-up piece from 1983. You see, for comedy's prop master extraordinaire, style isn't so much about finesse as it is about flair. Flair he's got in spades, as long as you're willing to call stupid hats and a trampoline disguised as a huge couch flair. The bits travel well-worn paths through mating and parenthood, and the material does often betray its age (the fact that National Enquirer headlines are stupid isn't exactly revolutionary comedy). However, what ultimately makes Gallagher giggle-worthy isn't the material itself, but the zeal with which he swings for the big laugh. Hammer in hand or not, the man's got style.

Seven Against Thebes (Ancient Greek: Ἑπτὰ ἐπὶ Θήβας, Hepta epi Thēbas; Latin: Septem contra Thebas) is the third play in an Oedipus-themed trilogy produced by Aeschylus in 467 BC. The trilogy is sometimes referred to as the Oedipodea.[2] It concerns the battle between an Argive army, led by seven champions including Polynices who were called the Seven against Thebes, and the army of Thebes led by Eteocles and his supporters. The trilogy won the first prize at the Athens City Dionysia.

Yanti, has to deal with major changes when her parents divorce. When Bambang tries to rape her, she runs away from home and stays with Frans. But it doesn’t last long since the widow who supports Frans gets out of jail. So Yanti goes to her old friend, Irma, and becomes a bartender of a brothel in Tandes. One day, her stepfather comes to the brothel and sees Yanti. Yanti avoids him by leaving with one of the guests from the bar. Then Frans comes to take her out of the place. But Bambang confronts Frans so Yanti takes a knife and stabs Bambang. Yanti goes to jail but she gets married inside the prison.

There are a particular class of Brahmins called Agradani, who are to be the chosen to perform the eating rituals on behalf of the dead. Poonnyo Chakraborty, a poor man belongs to the Agradani community lives with his family in a village. Local zamindar promises him to provide lands and money if Poonnyo lie down in front of the room where Zamindar's son is going to be born. In morning Poonnyo watches that zamindar's wife again gave birth to a dead child, soon he replaces the dead son with his new born baby. The baby grown ups as zamindar's son. Only Poonnyo knows that he is the biological father of the boy. One day a circumstances comes where he is forced to perform the funeral rituals for his own son.
