"Aflați despre mine..." stands as a quintessential social documentary from the perspective of 1980s filmmakers, delving into the effects of labor migration from agriculture to urban industry. Filmed in bachelor accommodations, it captures the intimate confessions of residents, offering faces and voices to the societal shifts in socialist times. The documentary, set against a backdrop of dormitory life, features a nuanced soundtrack blending informal interviews with the monotony of daily routines. Panning from window to window, the camera reveals the aspirations of temporary dwellers dreaming of a future beyond provisional living and aiming to settle into homes of their own.

"In Zdravic's film we see imagination reconstitute Nature through Technology. The process is complicated; cruel, yet caring, beautiful and grotesque. The result– a hand, let us say, whose missing thumb is now a toe– is at one and the same time magnificent in its revobered grave and monstrous in its form. Looking at such an image, we must question all 'natural' sentiment and aethetic 'givens,' for Zdravic's film has shown us the deeper beauties of imperfection." -Dick Blau

A film about which there are no words - an action with the camera - objects tell a random story - objects are bearers of obsessions -issuing energy as fetishes. Symbols of femininity and masculinity that have become glitter and trinkets are arranged, contemplated, varied, animated, recoded if not affirmed in their meaning, power. In the centre of all these things a wedding photo: beaming bride with happy, uniformed groom.

Considered to be one of the most ambitious short films made by the Spence Brothers, this stone-age alien extravaganza has everything a true sci-fi fan needs in spades. The mission is simple: aliens must capture and record living specimens from earth. However a violent earthquake forces the ship to take off whilst a giant robot, used to collect specimens, is swallowed up in the eruption. During quarry excavations in the present day the robot is re-animated, and the mission is still on.

A film based on a comparison between two locations in Florida, and Maine. It is about remembrance, a subject it treats through the chronicling of events and the development of a idiosyncratic way of seeing. The audience is given the sense of viewing these places through the filter of time and the properties of a particular mind's eye. Original scenes are used much as an Impressionist uses a landscape: visual elements are emphasized using film techniques such as animation and optical printing, and the slow rhythms and random nature of recall are evoked through sound and structure.

Historian, political philosopher, environmentalist, and anarchist Murray Bookchin demonstrates how Time magazine obliterates time in this 1982 episode of Paper Tiger Television. Time is soothing. The events in Time look nothing like the events experienced by those at them. The news in Time happens elsewhere, happens to others. Time is reliable. It comes each week, and with it, past, present, and future merge to the point of disappearance. Like television, Time lulls readers into complacency because the news is given an even, consistent tone. All issues are treated the same, with the same bland distance. Time makes a reality so unreal, so colorless. The news in Time comes written and photographed in a comforting tone that treats events as inconsequential and thus encourages a notion of not just a false sense of security, but a sense that our actions are without consequence.
