A work that gestures towards a kind of transit cinema and towards the archives that comprise it, weaving together the memories of a legendary figure of the Greek counterculture.

Planet Earth is devastated. A lone man wanders through a dark forest. He sees in the far light and strives for it. He is tormented by cold and thirst. With the last of his strength, he reaches the top of the mountain, where the flames are burning. The man sighs. The air from his lungs extinguishes the flames.

How far can a group of young people accept the otherness of a marginal person they are trying to welcome among them ? We won't know a lot of things about him. He will depart just as mysteriously as he had come, leaving behind him wall paintings of stunning quality and that sentence painted on a garage door : "Music soothes the savage breast." His brief stay has disrupted that young microcosm. It gave those young people an opportunity to reveal their personality to each other. Some appear as intolerant, others as cowardly and some as braver than the rest. We are tempted to consider this film as a documentary fable. Indeed, it has that eternal quality that is found in all founding narratives, since it raises a question that is as old as humanity : difference.

This is the story of a girl who moves with her father into the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains in the 1860s. Here she experiences wild rivers, dangerous animals and scary men for the first time. In the beginning, it doesn't go so well with city habits in a mountain cabin - especially not when the father likes to bring all kinds of animals into the cabin. But afterwards, life gets easier. Charlie, or Charlotte as she is called, turns out to be able to cope with all difficulties like a grown-up mountain man.

Although this grouping of three works shot during Peter Hutton’s yearlong stay in West Berlin seems to have been screened at least a few times, it was never placed in distribution and it seems that Hutton shelved it after these few screenings. 1981-2. 16mm; 45 minutes; black and white; silent.

“I held my finger between the projector and the screen and filmed while touching the projected object with the shadow of my finger. It's like playing with shadow puppets. The shadow that was originally imprinted on the film and the shadow of the finger or hand held out in front of the projector are both filmed shadows, so they are hard to distinguish. But you can't help but trying to distinguish them somehow. The inclusion of shadows that were not originally there adds a subtle flavor of fiction. I wanted to create a work that allows you to experience the textures - the texture of the water and the frog in the image, and the texture of nature made up of light, shadow and particles.” (Isao Kota)

Since part of the filming was carried out on the 9th floor, from the window of the Biryulevskaya high-rise building, as if from the point of view of an angel, only not flying, but sitting in a high tower.

A group of girls from the Gough Grove Community in Tower Hamlets consider why arguments happen, who they happen with, and how they happen. They talk about their personal experiences and the way they have reacted to certain situations in the past. They also explore the process by which arguments begin and escalate with some role play situations: at a dinner table, in a playground, on a park bench, and finding a lost purse full of money. The video was entirely filmed, devised and edited by girls from the Gough Grove community, with THAP (Tower Hamlets Arts Project).
