Finally, Petty produces a caricature of the way ideas form in the mind from reading print, as distinct from passive looking and listening.

This is the first work in the "River" series, born from Sasaki's idea that "music was born on the banks of the river." The lives of people living on the banks of the river are depicted through "sounds" such as the bells and violins that ring through the town. The story is set in Cremona, a town on the banks of the Po River in northern Italy. A-san, a tuner, deepens her ties with the people living in the Po River basin while repairing broken violins.

’4′ originated as a collaborative performance by Deborah Fong, Carol Hackett, Annastacia McDonald and Jeanette Reinhardt as the S.S. Girls, following events and activities of the women’s daily lives on Main Street. The performance was produced by Paul Wong and co-sponsored by the Video Inn. ’4′ explores the lives and personalities of four women as described by one another in the style of a feuding dysfunctional family. ’4′ was developed as a multimedia performance, first staged at Western Front in 1980, then followed by a tour across Canada and into the USA. The scripted multimedia presentations were later adapted to a video work.

The turbulent year of 1918 was the first year of civil war in the Caucasus. Upon learning that her husband had been arrested and sent to prison, teacher Maryamik decided to rescue Arsen. Together with her aunt Anahit, she sets out to search for her husband. This difficult journey becomes a path to enlightenment for Maryam. Finally finding her husband and learning that his arrest was not politically motivated, she is given the opportunity to rescue one person from prison, but instead of Arsen, she saves Savely, who has been sentenced to death.
